02706 Bissell Vacuum filter problem SOLVED 070419
Bissell Model 1701 Power Force Helix Turbo
This video shows you what it's like to see this vacuum and the problem that we found with the filter element setup which was done incorrectly and was causing a problem where the bissell vacuum was blowing lots of dust and debris and dirt right back into the room through the silver grey plastic vents on the front of the vacuum cleaner. It's almost like it was picking up the dirt, and then blowing most of it right back into the room again! What good is that? Anyway, what I found was that someone had installed the filters in the wrong places and that the post motor filter was installed in the same position as the pre motor filter and even though it was not the right spot, the vacuum was still working, but it's just that there was no filter installed at the motor output vents and so any dust being sucked past the vacuum canister into the motor fans was also being blown right back out of the vacuum and into the room you were trying to clean. That stinks! So all I had to do was disassemble the vacuum and clean everything, inside the hose, the canister, and all of the filters, by blowing them out with shop air compressor and then washing them in warm water, all the parts, including the filters and plastic parts and can and hose, but just not the base vacuum itself. All those parts had to be cleaned by hand using compressed air and paper towels and mr clean spray but really any spray cleaner or even plain water would work OK. Then after letting everything dry for many days, it was all put back together reassembled and in the proper order and filters in the right places, and now the vacuum works very good. Awesome and cool!
