Great info, but the video ended mid sentence…a bit awkwardly in my opinion. I would have liked to have heard the rest of the description of the advanced bits.

No, the snaffle does not refer to the mouthpiece. You can have the exact same mouthpiece on a snaffle bit as on a leverage bit. What makes a snaffle a snaffle is the cheekpiece. If it's a ring (O-ring, D-ring, Western D, egg butt etc) and the reins attach to the ring, it's a snaffle. If it's got a shank, and the reins attach at the bottom of the shank, it's a leverage bit.
