Hello children! Today we are exploring the Okeeheelee Nature Center in search for incredible Florida dragonflies and damselflies. I caught as many odonates as possible, including a member of a family notoriously known for being bitey - the darners. Enjoy the video, and of course also enjoy watching my pain!

The Odenats are a stunning species, love it! You're so lucky with these stunning insects! Their wings are fascinating, the little weights in the wings are incredible, looks like stained glass, beautiful!

You have some sweet looking dragonfiles in FL. Always feel weird about handling them for fear of hurting the animal. You make it look easy.

Dragonflies are much stronger and more resilient than they look, and handling them with ease just comes with experience. AZ dragonflies are really cool too

Thanks for stopping by my channel! Did you come from inat? Also, I've never caught a Cyrano but I bet it hurts too. Regal is still my number one dragonfly bite in terms of pain though

I had a huge dragonfly land on me, then it curled its abdomen under and I felt a prick. Not raised to the level of pain, but I felt it - maybe like when a nurse pricks for blood. How did that happen - - - was it trying to have sex with me? Humped by a dragonfly?
