Bitboy recommended FTX US and provided an affiliate link for several days. Bitboy also promoted BlockFi, and people who are invested are destroyed right now. Not everyone but some people if they can get away with something, If they see a loophole or something they can exploit they will do it. He did it because he could until reality hit him. He would have kept this going and trying to get as rich as possible as long as his FTT tokens were valuable and the more valuable his tokens got the more he would try to get away with. Continuing to sucker in legit money into his FTX and indirectly into alemeda research: He didn’t care about the fact that the tokens could go to zero. He was willing to take that risk. We all take some risk even with the US dollar because it’s possible for it to go to zero or close to zero also but it’s just alot more stable. The US government is playing a similar game printing money.

He gave a total of $35M in political donations split between Democrats and Republicans, which is still a lot of money to the average person, but not neatly enough to fund a party’s election cycle and a rounding error among the billions he stole. He gave the Miami Heat $120M for the naming rights to their arena and a huge amount for the naming rights to a football stadium (I don’t recall which team), so I suspect they ate corrupt as well., right? BTW - there is nothing illegal about the amount of money SBF donated to politicians, as the majority conservative Supreme Court ruled years ago that political donations are a form of free speech and can’t be limited. So, anybody can legally give an unlimited donation to any politician. What made SBF’s donations illegal is not the amount, but rather that he tried to disguise the source of the donations.

The guy who signed off accounts for this firm continued his roaring career in public domain (even ended up getting knighted by the Queen)! Now, I could tell it like a sobbing story, or I can laugh about it. Cause if you think about it, it was my fault for trusting essentially an agency problem in a gamblers den. Thats what the stock exchange is. What leads you to believe SBF’s parents set this scam up? I’m not saying you are right or wtong, but I haven’t seen any evidence or heard anybody say his parents were involved in the company. Being an MIT graduate in Physics, SBF was certainly smart enough to have set this scam up himself. It’s not like SBF is stupid and would need his parents to think something like this up. Actually, it is highly probable that SBF is smarter than his parents. Most criminals come from law abiding families. I heard SBF didn’t help his parents buy that Bahamas home, but rather, he bought it for them. Given that at the time, SBF was reportedly one of the wealthiest people on the planet (I believe Forbes had his net worth at $30B), that home purchase doesn’t stand out as an unusual thing for a reported billionaire at that level to do. So, what have you seen or heard reported that leads you to believe the parents are the real crooks that set up this scam and not the son? To be clear, I don’t know the parents or anything about them, other than they are both law professors at Stanford. I’m only saying that I have not seen or heard anything that implicates the parents in this scam. Therefore, I’m simply asking if you have seen or heard anything about the parents that I or others missed.

The most expensive single residence cost $35M, which was a 4-story penthouse that SBF and several other FTX employees lived in. The property that SBF’s parents used as a vacation home cost $16.4M.
