But, with that logic, you should start even more of your numbers from the bottom. You'd need to research which numbers most often follow other numbers.

Your point about the 'uptrend' being 'over a year' fails to take into account the fact that 50% of the 'uptrend' has been going sideways or down. 2019 didn't do that it went straight up with no sideways until it was time to come down. This time we've done 20 weeks up followed by 20 weeks sideways/down then 26 weeks up followed by 26 weeks sideways/down so far. There are some similarities but they are very different moves. Having said that, I wish I'd listened to you in March. I'd made a nice little profit on my Alt bags that I've given back over the last 6 months. Still up overall though. Great stuff as always Ben :)

Why assumed that this time the Fed would cut rates to zero percent? If the terminal rate is not zero but one percent for instance, then your formula 2.5/0.75=5.5/x should be modified

Chris Waller from the FOMC says the fed might only cut 25 basis points in September but will sugar coat the news by ending QT sooner than expected. I think broadly the markets would be very happy about that.

I think that we should compare this consolidation to a similar one in APR 14, 2023 - OCT 14, 2023

Benjamin says that altcoins will further fall to bitcoin, open the Others,/btc chart draw a trend line and you will see that altcoins have come to the bottom to bitcoin. But then at the expense of what can the domination grow? Only due to the fall of ETH/BTC, we have about 13-14% of ETH to BTC to fall. But altcoins have found a bottom to bitcoin.

so why only choose the 5 to write from bottom to top? as a mathematician, you should draw half of the numbers from top to bottom and the other half from bottom to top! maximum efficiency!! :)

Why do you analyze everything according to YTD? BTC/crypto is driven by the BTC halving, so why not use that as the reference point when comparing cycles?

Hey Ben, you often use a logarithmic scale for price. If you also look at the time in a logarithmic scale, you can see a straight line, which perfectly tracks the bottoms of BTC.

I don’t have time to watch. What is the significance of the 2019 comparison? Is the bull market over? Does he expect prices to rise again during this cycle? If so, when?

... What about the Central Banks of the world, printing fiat, the elections, Bitcoin adoption from Pension funds and other big investors? etc. We have to witstand to this shakedown.. until.. (The weekly cup and handle pattern is still valid)

What about comparing to 2016, 2020 halving plus election year, and now, because of wall street, btc could still have a q4 rally if stocks will?

My main concern is that the QE normally starts when rate cuts don't have anywhere lower to go, because expanding the balance sheet occurs when further rate cuts are not possible, or when additional liquidity is needed in financial markets. In 2019 QE (expanding the balance sheet) occurred when interest rates were near 0. Your thesis that we would need to see 165bp drop from 550bp is still pretty high from 0 i.e. ~350bp.

Considering how aggressively bulls on CT are getting cocky over a retrace to retest the breakdown, tells me we have some more pain to go. Whether it plays out like 2019 exactly, probably unlikely. However, the monetary policy component says we have a high probability of hitting the 100 week EMA is likely, or at least coming toward it
