When Ethereum launched, 12 million ETH were created for developers, and 60 million ETH were premined for ICO investors (70% of initial supply?). Now they want you to buy their ETH to invest in ETH2. It's like 300,000-400,000x less secure than Bitcoin. There are no limits to the ammounts that can be created either.

Bitcoin is competing against currencies, central banks, and precious metals. Ethereum is competing to be the bottom layer of all digital transactions.

Bitcoin can’t compete against other currencies the network is super slow. It’s a store of value.

@@aceyage that’s the whole reason Bitcoin was forked and look the one that’s viewed as a store of value is the biggest coin. You clearly don’t know much about crypto. Ether has way more uses wether it be DeFi, NFTs, Cloud etc. Sure there is a lot of shit coins but ETH is definitely not shit.

Exactly, different markets. And ethereum doesn't really have a competitor in the non-digital world - they're either manually working humans or digital escrows, or trustful cloud compute. Bitcoin has to convince people and governments that it is more like gold and less like their fictional currency. But since its price isn't backed by anything more than belief/trust, it competes directly with unbacked sovereign currencies. Hence why currency-controlled countries ban bitcoin (Nigeria, India, China), to them it's diluting the power of their own currency, even if it's transactionally worthless. USA/USD doesn't really have that issue because current elites live in USD, and most of bitcoin is owned by USD because of that. The current oligarchy benefits from a bitcoin supremacist world. Same reasoning as why USA doesn't have capital controls.

@@noseymold9868 The “network” that is slow is a feature of bitcoin to improve the security of it. There’s a reason there was a whole civil war that happened and the block size wasn’t increased. Bitcoin has a layer 2 in which other components can be added on top of it. Like the light night network which has like a million tps. The question now becomes that if bitcoin can do what all other alts can on TOP of a secure and decentralized base layer, what’s the point of the other coins?

Dec 2017/Jan 2018 was 20% ETH and 80% Shitcoins (including DOGE). DOGE ended up becoming my best performer. Been buying back in since the May sell off. Now 70% BTC, 10% ETH and 20% Shit (mostly DOGE as everything else got smashed. I have several tokens that's initial $500 investment are now worth about $20-25. One called Bytecoin's worth about $10!. So your strategy looks great.

I added Vgx, voyager token. Currently $2.25 I think it’ll be a solid long term hold with 7% interest. The whole market dip is recovering, I just buy every week and hold.

@@JonCooper86 I have 2000 VGX(count them as a shitcoin). I'm in Oz so no interest. Tempted to dump them and buy 2 more ETH. If Voyager was here I would do the opposite. Sell 3 ETH to get 5000VGX. Good for you Jon all the same.

Ethereum is like a elephant head on a lion‘s body. It will fail in the longterm for sure because every proof of stake coin is 100% centralized in the long run. There is one asset and it is bitcoin which is worlds better than all twenty thousand coins added together 😂

All I can say is think about taking some profits in a few months... even if you don't need the money you can reinvest it in a year, assuming we have a normal 4 year cycle and not a supercycle

@@mattb6646 last bear market was 2 years and the last bull market was 18 months. Historically the bull markets get 6 months longer with each halving. So if history repeats itself. This bull market will be over spring 2022.

Bitcoin hasn't used a graphics card since 2014 when it moved to efficient ASICs, its currently 300,000-400,000x more secure than Ethereum because of it's ASIC efficency! Gold and Banking use many more time the power of Bitcoin.

NFT could be the answer to fight online piracy. Imagine you could NFT music and movies. That will force people to buy a share of a song, a share of a movie and resell it afterwards to the exchange crypto market. Music and movie studios will have to create their NFT coins to sell it online for people to have access to their "coin" and watch the movie or listen to music. We have had DVDs, CDs, mp3, mp4 now we have NFT music or movie.

If you would ban bitcoin today, nothing would happen. Price actions yes but nothing else. If you take ethereum from the market away, half of the market will be gone because everything is build on eth. The only alternatives are Ada, Dot, bnb and the comming Casper Coin.
