Firewall bug discovered in Bitdefender Total Security 2024 two weeks ago.
If you enable the Alert Mode in Bitdefender Firewall then launch any full screen application (RU-vid video or any Game) the Alert Mode is automatically disabled. As I show in the video automatic profiles are disabled and the issue is still reproducible.
Tested on:
#1 Freshly built computer with Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX, Intel Core I7 14700K, Corsair CMK32GX5M2X7200C34
#2 Another computer built last fall with Asus Rog Strix X670E-E Gaming WiFi, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, CMK96GX5M2B6400C32
#3 Two old laptops Asus ROG G56JR-CN169D and MSI GE 63 Raider 8RF
Steps to reproduce:
0. Disable automatic profiles in Bitedefender
1. Enable Alert Mode in Bitdefender Firewall
2. Launch Google Chrome and go to RU-vid
3. Play any video
4. Make the video full screen and wait 5 - 10 seconds
5. Exit full screen and minimize Google Chrome
6. Check the Bitdefender User Interface and notice that Alert Mode is automatically switched off.
This was recorded on first PC to show that Alert Mode is switched off when RU-vid video is played in full screen.
Edit 18 April 2024. The issue was fixed in version 27.0.35.147 released on 11 Aril 2024. Tested with the same steps and the AlertMode stay enabled when applications go in fullscreen mode. See details below form the Bitdefender Release notes.
