I’m not a dog trainer but I figured it out too with my malinois, he has a soft grip but when he loses the tug he becomes a “sore loser” 😅 and his drives goes from 10 to 100 , even biting with the teeth from the back, which is a proper bite, I have been looking for more ways to improves it
Love this, thank you so much for the video post! My German Shepherd developed a weak bite because I was a noob and played tug during his teething period and he began to associate pain with tug. Sometimes he will bite hard and really pull, but often times his bite is soft and I can take the tug from him easily. I'm curious what type of tug is being used here and where I can find it. Really want to improve my boy's tug grip
@@dogtrainingismypassion after 30 min i feel much stronger bite he bite the toy on command and also leaves it very well on command when i tried your method he started to bite it much stronger can you please advise how can i teach him to bite stronger on command without play?and it will be very nice if you will show how to teach a dog to bite a toy that isnt in our hands :) TIA
Is this the best way to encourage a pushing bite? I know I’m looking for a pushing driving bite, but how to encourage that? I have a Rottweiler, he’s eager and obedient thanks!
How is this building grip? Lucky the dog has got drive if.not.u would of made him go backwards in his grip work ..this is a make it or break it technique . They call it grip "development" for a reason.
As I explain in the video. This is only ONE technique. She’s a soft dog and had a soft grip on the tug/sleeve. What I did in the video is take the tug away from her if she gave me a soft grip. By the end of the session she figured it out and clamped to not lose the tug. Her grip now is WAY better as this video was taken a while back. We did this for several sessions along with other techniques, so I’d say it worked. Obviously it’s not for your. That’s cool too.
