Rollerblading in 2023 is weird the hammers are gone this was a great era i started Rollerblading during the shima era and im glad i was able to be a part of that i miss all the Rollerblading companys and its all been lost but not forgotten😑
I started skating in 94 and havent skated in a few years. But I never thought tricks of this magnitude would be landed with such a high percentage. Its amazing how far the sport has come.
Haffey absolutely deserved that win. Especially after coming back from that gnarly slam and stepping it up even further. Taking a slam like that midway through a competition really knocks your confidence and makes it much harder to keep pushing.
Seriously big ups for a completely professional look at rollerblading. If only more people had your attitude and production values, we might even see it on TV again.
THIS IS OUR DECADE BLADING 2020: We can establish a central organization for all of aggressive inline. A WORLD ROLLING SERIES per say again. Featuring all the major early tournaments weighted for importance and size but include the likes of the: Winterclash, NED Bitter Cold Showdown, USA Blading Cup, USA ... We need more. Make it happen roller blade shops worldwide. UNITE.
Loved experiencing this at my local skatepark during my park rat days....definitely has Barn Burner Vibes but better...miss being at modern everyday...RIP Brett Urbas
Who is this pilot for? Fox, NBC, ESPN? Put these contests back on a major television network and the money will start coming back into rollerblading. These tricks are undeniably bigger, smoother, and ballsier than skateboarding. If this makes it's way back onto TV rollerblading will come back. It looks 100 times better now than it did then.
That contest will never be matched again. The rare set of circumstances meant that the top 6 skaters ever were all competing against each other & all at their peak. On top of that the competition forcing them to do stuff that they couldn't have otherwise done. I feel that Soichiro should have got third place.
Due to the fact that technical maneuvers and landing is easier because skates are attached to your feet frees the athlete to do huge airs and precision landings. That's what makes it so impressive. Skateboarders hate because they spend years trying to control a plank of wood with the allusion of style and ease. Another thing, why would you call someone a ufcking idiot or a b!tch pussy just because they disagree? It's a little low, don't you think.
Yeah, before they closed. They sponsored my sister for a while, she would tell me how they would constantly have talks about closing for the longest time. Didn't think it'd actually come to fruition. Really sad to see it go. It literally was the only indoor park worth riding. Everything else is outdoor, and we're known for rain. It sucks. I haven't gotten out to ride in a very long time :[
Totally pisses me off. Both this, and the "Blading Cup" had TV runs a few years ago, and people didn't want to pay attention. Both shows were awesome, and deserved more attention.
Round of applause for the people who made this. this should be on TV every week. Gone are the days of a worn out VHS, because you just had to watch Arlo's section over and over to get you pumped!!
at 23:00 minutes he's not sure who he'd give it to? Haffey's trick was way more intense then all the others. The risk factor was extremely higher then the others as well
