They don't GAF because they want to keep their solved cases numbers up. I often wonder how many innocent are in jail or got life and died in jail all prior to DNA testing. They dont care. Its as corrupt as politics because it IS politics. I wouldn't trust any phuck in authority as far as I could throw them. Even the good cops get pressued and threatened to follow suit. Their lawyer is right, the police should apologize for believing it was a hoax because they have just said stuff that has humiliated the couple and the police can never take those words back

Listening to that police officer tear this couple down and accuse them of lying about everything was disgusting. The city may have paid them $2.5 million, but there isn’t anything that can fix the damage caused by the city’s treatment of this couple. Those who called them liars to the press should have to make a public apology in regards to the vitriolic statements they’d previously made about the couple.
If they were drugged, why wasn't the husband immediately blood tested? Even the perpetrator sent a letter to the newspaper saying the police investigation was a 'travesty'. How sad is that? They deserve more than 2.5M!
Aaron and Denise were given NyQuil liquid which is something people can take at home. The cops would have just assumed he took it himself - but it is ridiculous they never looked for the bottle or tested him to see what was in his system.
They've written a book called Victim F. Hopefully those answers are in there because I would also like to know why the perpetrator (I believe he wasn't the only one in the house that night) would do something like this.

Yeah but how did he know how much money to ask them for? How did he know the guy's name was Aron? How did he pick the victim? They talk as if this has been resolved and all the answers have been found, but all it has done is raise more questions. Something is still missing from this story. If I were her, and I was only with my boyfriend for seven months, I would not trust him after that. He waited ten hours to call the police. If he was so convinced that calling the police would kill her, then don't do it at all, but if he just ends up calling them anyways then why not call right away. Nothing about any of it makes sense.
Ya it really does make you wonder why the kidnapper chose them and how he knew Aron's name and why he let Aron keep his phone is the most odd part of it all and why he didn't insist on meeting with him to get the $$ after taking her....I can see why the police thought that Aron set his gf up...Does anyone know if they ever did answer these questions??? @@Natasha_-_ it was so ironic that this occured RIGHT after the girlfriend found out, that Aaron had been texting his ex fiance saying he wanted to get back together with her! Aaron and this girlfriend, who was supposedly kidnapped, was very upset and they talked THAT night and decided they would go forward with their relationship and try to work it out. And the guy, Muller, and whoever he was there in the house with, said he made a mistake when looking up the financial records on the computer -- said he thought it was Aarons ex fiance who was in the house, with him!! But, he took the girl, anyway! Something definitely doesn't make sense!! But, the Muller guy did go to prison.
This is like that poor 16 year old girl who was raped and the cops didn’t believe her just because one person said she might be lying! They made it in to that Netflix show. I know that sometimes some people do go to the cops and they are lying, but that’s why you have things like “innocent until proven guilty” was there actually any evidence they had lied, or was it based off peoples biases?

What an absolutely terrible and incompetent police department. The FBI had to secretly step in and figure out who actually did the crime, because that police department was never going to continue pursuing the case and look for a suspect because they were absolutely convinced it was a hoax. Them doing that is one of the worst things an officer/police department can do, because their wrong assumption caused them to stop pursuing an armed and incredibly dangerous kidnapper and rapist, and because of their minds being set on one false scenario. Them (police are taught to NEVER put all their eggs in one basket because for example in an investigation like this, it causes them to stop pursuing the possibility of an armed and incredibly dangerous kidnapper and rapist, and the suspect is just free to continue doing terrible things to people on the street without having to worry about police investigating. So that police department's incompetent handling of this case could have led to more women getting kidnapped and raped in their community just because they were to stubborn and egotistical to believe her boyfriend. So even though ALL of the evidence was on the BF's side and went along with what he said happened, they still didn't want to believe something could happen in their "great community" and just ignored the facts SMDH. I am so happy that the family is getting vindicated because the FBI did what the local department should have done in the first place, and I'm glad they're getting exposed for their incompetence and I hope they get punished for endangering a whole community.

I still think they made it all up . All 3 of them. They first alleged 2 man broke in. But just one man was jail. She was drug and eyes cover but did not call the cops didn't go to the hospital. Get money from taxes payers .

The kidnapping didn't match the police ID of a kidnapping victim and the police call it a hoax!!! Initially they are calling her a liar and have humiliated her. SMH

They sent her an email basically saying they were wrong but it wasn’t their fault. As far as I know they never got a public apology. The couple sued and won, but the police didn’t admit to any fault. It’s ridiculous. And people wonder why people don’t go to the cops right away when something happens...
My sister was kidnapped for a cpl weeks when she was only 15. She managed to escape to her freedom but unfortunately was accused of lying and treated like a "runaway teen that just wanted to get away with partying." The people involved in her horrific kidnapping ordeal were not held accountable in the end for what they did to her. They ended up doing the same thing to another young girl and this time got caught. It's just unfortunate what happened in my sister's case because if the police didn't treat her like a criminal and actually listened to her those people would not have been able to get away with doing it to another girl. 😞

Back in my day, if you were raped, they would ask you what you were wearing. This happened on stand in front of everyone. The poor girls would cry because they were told it was their fault 😔

I wonder how this compares to the Sheri Papini case and I wonder how many women and young girls have been kidnapped over the years, maybe even murdered, and they called them runaways.
