for birds when food is abundant enough/there's not many predators the males and females immediately enter an evolutionary mating arms race, wherin males evolve insane light shows to get the attention of females who can afford to be way pickier

I love how the frigatebirds of the Caribbean islands vividly and adorably remind me of the Greater Sage grouse of the western United States, southern Alberta, and Saskatchewan, Canada.

you won't appreciate those aero acrobatic fights over sticks unless you know how complex and complicated it is and is impossible to mimic in a drones. and to add to this complexity the brain synchronizing and calibrating all those moves is smaller than a nut. Yeah God is the best creator.
