I am 78 years old now but, when I was 4 years old, my family and I experienced ball lightning! The lightning struck the electrical connection coming from the light pole to the house. A ball of pure white light came through the window and what seemed like forever ( seemed like everything turned to slow motion), it floated around the room and then exited back out the window. In the mean time my mother screamed, grabbed me and landed on the floor to avoid the light. My dad was only a few feet away on the floor with us. I'll never forget the fear in her screams nor seeing that light. FACINATING!

From what I understood Sarah Winchester was a very sharp lady. She lost her family and had endless money to spend. The workers said she was very kind to them. I think she just enjoyed creating new rooms for the house. She did think spirits gave her ideas for the house. I think plenty of people do things that seem crazy. You might say staring at a phone screen all day is crazy.

My husband always has to be chronically early. Trust me given peoples reactions I think us fashionably late people are alot more tolerated then someone who always arrives before they're even ready haha. I told the doctors office to schedule me when they want me, not schedule me and tell me to get there 20 minutes early, because then I can tell them whether or not I can make it there in time. That's super annoying. If I could make it there at that time I wouldn't tell you not to schedule me before the time I give you. Some of us still work and have kids lol. Life in America is silly compared to most places. What is everyone rushing to in an unsafe hurry. Drive safe and be a minute late if necessary, life will still be fine a minute or two late. Rushing around all the time makes a person forget important things and make bad decisions. People need to just relax.

I worked in a very large mental hospital from the early 70’s. They were doing experiments on sensory deprivation and had built a “room within a room” it was literally suspended from the ceiling of the bigger room. Some staff volunteered to be part of the experiment, some walked in and out but one ward sister was in the Guinness book of records for years for staying in there for the longest time, it was days, she said she wanted to come out because she thought everyone had forgotten about her and she could smell smoke. She was a very strong character, a wonderful nurse but a determined lady, very practical not the type to have a vivid imagination. Well done Maureen, you put LMH on the map, but it’s all apartments now.

The Winchester house has been making it's rounds in the paranormal community for decades, but is it really paranormal, or is it just architectural? The most paranormal thing about it, is a fortune teller told her there were ghosts and she'd die if she quit building, but that's not what the main story is. The main story is that she kept workers busy building a maze in her house.

The Winchester House is definitely its own entity, and you will doubt it,or question if it really is until you have stood there and placed your hand on the house , (any place on it )and feel it for yourself .(as i have) Beyond the energy and ghosts, ect ..there is the actual architecture, and what you relize when your eyes lay upon the house is that a VERY TALENTED AND DARING ,UNIQUE, EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT ARCHITECT (be it novice),created this.,its easy to get lost in the paranormal, yet just as easy to get lost in the craftsmanship and designs of the Winchester House .

One thing I learnt about doctors used by insurance companies when I developed severe latex allergy, was to convince me that all debilitating symptoms I experienced physically were all in my mind. Why? Because they do not know. So, they sent me to be assessed by experts. The outcome? I was sane and not imagining what was happening to me. It was a very difficult time in my life losing my job because of it. Sad with the realisation that some doctors’ sense of morality can bought. Fortunately, two specialists believe me.

Based on the boy's testimony, I'm guessing that the "booms" were caused by small objects traveling at very high speed; probably much faster than hypersonic speed, as the objects penetrated the earth's atmosphere from space. The so called "beams of light, if my guess is correct were trails of plasma created from the superheated/supercompressed sir in the wake of the objects from space. As for the colordul sphere of multicolored lights, ... if the boy had been looking at the flash of light that accompanied the "booming"s, this might have over stimulated parts of the cells of his eyes and left a short lived coruscating afterimage as the over stimulated eye cells were trying to adjust and return to normal function. How do i know this? Because it has actually happened to me AFTER I inadvertently was looking at an unexpected lightning flash that hit the ground about ten feet away from me. IF the cause of this series of phenomena was a result of objects passing through the atmosphere from space, then that would explain the three holes in the ground found later; three small projectiles vaporizing as they penetrated the atmosphere ; their tiny remains still potent enough to punch three holes in the ground upon impact.

I can’t see the correlation between Concord and the “Bell Island Boom” sonic booms created by aircraft don’t create damage on the ground of the magnitude being attributed to them, Concord would have slowed to subsonic speed by the time it was anywhere near the Canadian/United States coastline and unless concord had become a super static discharge wick it couldn’t have caused a “beam of energy” that penetrated the ground, especially ground that was or appeared to be frozen (in the original film footage), as for the ball of light I can’t think of anything to explain it or disprove it, maybe the young man who saw it was seeing “stars” from being hit by the booms, but I don’t know. My personal view is that it must have been an important event for Canada to allow “scientists” from Los Alamos to investigate, and without properly identifying themselves to anyone, especially the fire investigator?, we all know that the USA and Canada have a mutual cooperation agreement but does that extend to letting scientists or any of the “alphabet soup” agencies conduct investigations on Canadian soil “Willy-nilly” or unescorted????, I also think that had it been concord that had caused the events it wouldn’t be a mystery to this day, especially as concord has long retired and any secrecy around her operations would be in the public domain, so I think the reporter who said it was concord should try another hypothesis or theory. Karl Stephan @ 11:49 is an engineer, but what type of engineer? Mechanical?, Electrical? Fluidity? Jet Propulsion? Or one of the many engineering degrees? just because he is an engineer does not make him an expert on electricity or lightning, if his specialty is electrical engineering then why not say so, I have an aerospace engineering background but that doesn’t make me an expert on electricity or lighting, but I bet there are plenty of scientists/professors in Canada who are, and probably at Texas state university, sorry but nothing this expert has said gives me any confidence in his theory, if the chickens were hit by a massive electrical charge how come they still had all their feathers, if the charge was strong enough to make glass fuzes into projectiles and destroy the hen coup then surely it would have turned the chickens into instant KFC?, and if the lightning struck that close to the boy wouldn’t he have suffered from the effects as well? and how did damage occur over large distances but nobody or nothing else appears to have been affected, injured or killed. Dr Stephan is, in my opinion, blowing smoke. One last opinion, if we know so little about ball lightning how can anyone possibly say that is what the young man saw, and how would it hover, lightning is not a static force it is dynamic so it hovering around does not make any logical sense. @ 15:35 I remember the “Woodpecker Signal” being revealed on a British television science show but they called it, if memory serves, the “Moscow Chainsaw/buzzsaw” but I don’t remember it being addressed by the United Nations 🇺🇳, but it could have been as it disappeared as quickly as it appeared, but I can’t see a 10Mhz signal causing the events on Bell island, I would have thought that to create an event like that you would need a massive electrical charge and a frequency much higher than 10Mhz, even today the ability to create such an effect is not, as far as I know, easily done, so in the 70s? Not in my mind. Having said all that the Colonar theory is the most plausible explanation that has been put forward, I don’t think that laymen have enough knowledge or understanding of the atmosphere and atmospheric phenomena that we could dispute the varsity of that particular theory, I know I certainty don’t. I know I have an opinion about a lot of things about the Bell island events, and probably come across as arrogant and self opinionated, and that is, in this case, probably correct, but there again I am getting old and so I don’t really care, again arrogance on my part, so if I have offended anyone or triggered them all I can say is DILLIGAF, age and dementia give me a lot of wiggle room, but I have put my soapbox away, vented my spleen and written my thesis so rest easy I have finished being a know it all, at least for this episode.

@@wattj60 Hi, thanks for your comment and your kind words, I do appreciate it. DILLIGAF is just a acronym that I, and most of the British military personnel have used probably from our first day in basic training and throughout our service, it breaks down as “Do I Look Like I Give A F..K” usually reserved for banter but also when, for instance, you give an order for a junior rank to do something, something they don’t want to do, or feel like it is not their turn or job to do and they whinge and whine about it, so instead of saying each word you use DILLIGAF, it is sort of complicated but it works, just like SNAFU and FUBAR, but they are a different story. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇺🇦

I saw ball lightning when I was a kid with my grandpa. It floated eerily across the gazebo and then... nothing. You could smell ozone in the air after as well. The russian "woodpecker" was located near Chernobyl and ceased operations soon after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. The array is still standing but remains a relic/defunct piece of equipment... kind of like Pukinboy.

I have not had cable for the last 11 years. So, I was not aware William Shatner was hosting a program for the Discovery Channel. I enjoyed this video!!! I have always like William Shatner. He started working in the late 1950s and early 1960s in programs such as the Twilight Zone and Outer Limits. Then, he starred in Star Trek for several years. He was also a star in a police program. What I am leading up to is that he always finds work!!! He will do other science fiction movies or host shows that air science fiction or ghost movies. He is always working, and I admire that part of his character. He has a very good work ethics. Now, on the other hand, Leonard Nimoy voiced a different opinion during an interview in the 1980s or 1990s. Leonard explained that William had many marriages and divorces, as well as some children. Leonard claimed he had to constantly hustle for work to pay all the alimony and child support he owned his former wives. Leonard said that William would live out of his car if he had to in order to pay his bills. I guess when "you are a star" all your ex-wives have a piece of you!!!

Makes sense. Hope he got the wives paid off when all the great Star Trek movies came out. His kids are probably in their 60s by now. 😊 He needs to live to 100 to have some time to himself! He seems like a happy upbeat person with a good sense of humor, and an upstanding man. PS he has divorced the wife he had when he made this series. 😏

The walking under a ladder bad luck is based on someone being under a ladder instead of on the outside supporting it for someone else. That person on the ladder was too heavy for it and the other was crushed and killed whei the ladder collapsed under the heavy weight of the person on it. Not bad luck bad judgement of weather the ladder could hold the person to climb and stand on it. That's the situation for them has nothing to do with good luck or bad luck at all.

Actually, it comes from the triangle shape that a ladder makes when it's set up. In some pagan beliefs the triangle is a sacred shape, within the medieval Christian religion it shows the sign of the Trinity & in both cases it would be disrespectful to walk through that sacred space.

It’s been proven that the Winchester House story is a fake. There was no medium that stated the ghosts were after her. As a matter of fact, the actual medium didn’t even exist. The room that the seances were to have taken was the private room of a long time employee. There’s more but you’ll have to look it up. It’s so unfortunate that history has turned this lonely, loving, generous, mad soul’s life story into a fairytale. And presenting it as fact to future generations. The real story is better.

The portion about Winchester seams very plausible. This is the first time I have heard about her building a house big enough to accommodate her extended family. Also, it's the first time I have heard about the earthquake, the extensive damage, and the need to rebuild portions of her home. Why don't we ever hear about her other house and see photos of it even though its not conspicuously remodeled? I'd love to see it.

Far more likely that more prints were sold in Rotherham by door to door sales people in the 60s & 70s - so more people had it in homes when chip pan fires etc were more frequent. By burning those ones in the UK, The Sun paper would have increased the scarcity of the print. Also, whilst that paper is a ‘top selling’ one, it’s not noted for the quality of its journalism.

It was as the chemist said, but the crying boy picture was also found to have been lacquered with a coating that also served as a fire retardant. Combine that with the fact that most homes in the area had it as it was given away as a promotion with a lot of household items, in some cases from the realty companies when you bought or rented a house or flat. Its like blaming the sink because most homes have them and porcelain doesnt burn.
