I luckily got the opportunity to see Dismaland in person and it was absolutely incredible to look at. All the exhibitions were so unique from each other, the photos I took really didn't do it all justice!
A lot of foreign people see BonBonLand as obscene. Not how we view it in Denmark. Sure, it is a weird park and it's fun to see how foreigners react when they see it. But Danish children grow up with crude humor and in a country a lot more open about sexuality. So, these things doesn't seem taboo, and as a kid I never saw the mascots as obscene, just fun and strange. I freely admit that it's weird, but it's delightfully weird!
There was a rumour going 'round that they'd toned down BonBon Land, includnig removing nudity, do you know if this is true? It's not that i'm desperate to see cow boobs per-say :D I just can't seem to find a definitive answer on the matter
@@dwitefry4157 I unfortunately can't say, I haven't been there for years. But they did remove the candy the mascots came from years ago, so it wouldn't surprise me if they removed it from the parks too.
Also at Wunderland Kalkar, a big firework show is organised every year in september by Zena, a Belgian firework manufacturer. It is a big event visited by many firework fans including many Dutch and Belgian youtubers. The concept of the event is that some firework show builders have a time span ranging from 1 to 10 minutes to build a short show from Zena's products. The event is called the Zena Trophy.
Dude; I would have given all my limbs to have known about and gone to Dismaland, that is my perfect exhibition but this is literally the first time I’ve heard of it.
I would say to check out some of MeowWolf's exibits here in the US if that's your kind of jam. Personally I've been to OmegaMart in Las vegas and it was a BLAST
my family has a house in Beech Mountain and exploring the abandoned Land of Oz has been my favourite part of visiting since i was little. it’s super cool to see what it looked like when it was open!
The distorted Ariel sculpture reminds me of how cable television was when you didn't pay for a particular channel. You could still click to the channel and hear it's audio but the picture would be "scrambled." When I was a child my parents didn't want to pay for the Disney Channel but I would sit there anyway and watch it scrambled. I know, so sad.
I was one of the lucky few to visit Dismaland back in 2015. I travelled all the way down to Weston-Super-Mare for the day from the midlands. It was a bizarre place but was incredibly lucky to score tickets. I still remember it to this day it was so fascinating! One of my favourite parts was probably the spinning caravan illusion ride and the stroppy staff who threw a guide book at my mum when she bought it 😂 I got a balloon that said I'm an Imbecile on it 😂 Kind of sad it's not there anymore but I'm kind of glad that it was a weird once in a lifetime experience 👍
Salina Turda looks really cool! I love the modern art/sci-fi vibes they went for. Being underground usually makes me uncomfortable but that'd be such a fun visit!
I was lucky enough to go to get tickets for Dismaland and it was such a great experience. I had my plush unicorn confiscated from me at the entrance because unicorns were not allowed and I desperately wanted to win a fish finger in a bag but the attendants at the prize counter kept moving my rod hook away and being obnoxious so I couldn't. I think Death riding a bumper car was my favourite piece but there were so many other amazing works of art there too :)
Ahh we loved Death on the bumper cars too! We were stood right at the front for that one and at one point he drove towards us so fast I was sure he was going to fly off the stage and crash into us! We screamed, then fell about in hysterics when he stopped just short of flying into the crowd! Dismaland as a whole was such a fantastic experience.
Maybe I’m just tired but dismaland is one of the most fascinating things I’ve seen in a while. Things like that and omega mart are slowly becoming something I’m very interested in
@@Jakaaful holy land in orlando, florida. I live just about fifteen minutes away from it. It’s built in a roman coliseum style building, and features an hourly crucifixion reenactment. However, as of this year, it is closed for good
as a proud british citizen, i can say diggerland is one of the best theme parks to ever exist, anyone who disagrees can fight the nightmare fuel mascots
Out of all the theme park videos I've spent sadly wishing I'd be able to visit some day, this was definitely not the one I was expecting to contain not one, but two of the parks I've been to! :,D I'm glad I got to experience Dismaland, it was honestly incredible. Cant remember much about Diggerland, but I was pretty young when I went.
The theme park I would have love to see it’s Dismaland, first because it’s was made by my fav artist Banks, and damn, it’s so creative ! There is so many things to see 😳
Salina Turda sounds amazing! I actually do halotherapy once or twice a month and it’s been immensely helpful for my respiratory issues so I love the idea of adding a theme park aspect to that! It’s beautiful
Wow i did not expect Bonbon land to be here! As a dane it has become a family tradition to visit Bonbon land every year at Halloween, and the wierd statues is just typical danish humor everyone that visits appriciates the humor, sadly most of the small animatronics are gone, but the inside part has recently reopened with a giant play area! Its actually a really fun place to visit! So if you ever find yourself around Bonbon land you should visit!
Salina Turda is so worth visiting, I was there last august and it was WONDERFUL, it’s so nice down there, the mini golf it’s the most popular I swear I waited over 1 hour to get a course 😂
Me and my wife went to land of Oz a couple years ago. It was pretty cool! I would’ve loved to see it pre-fire! However it burned down before I was born. They’re still working on building it back up. I’m excited to go back in a few years to see the progress!
1: The Dismaland Castle reminds me a lot of the Castle from the Joy Joy Gang level in Dark Deception Chapter 4. 2:I think Cinderella’s carriage crashing is a reference to Princess Diana’s death (she was killed in a car accident while trying to flee from the paparazzi).
I went to Dismaland, it was amazing and also the staff really were rude to you too 😂 omg and also went to BonBon land as a kid whilst on holiday in Denmark, I remember it was full of wasps!
I can answer that! As a Dane, I've been there. I went as a child and didn't think twice about the imagery. Denmark isn't very shy about crude humor, and as children we grow up with it. The country is a lot more open about sexuality, and therefore we see these mascots as fun instead of obscene. Also, videos talking about the park show the same few "crude" mascots. They are only a few places in the park, and there's a lot more mascots that the few crude ones (each ride has its own). So, as kids, we never saw the characters a sexual or crude, just funny. And as adults, we can see how some might interpret it like that, but we still just find it funny.
@@majkenbredkjr1521 yeah as a dane myself i also just found it fun, i never really understood that it was wierd to other people from other places when I was a kid because i just thought it was normal, guess Denmark has some pretty weird humor
I live in at town right next to Bonbonland. The last few years the park has been kinda creepy. The animatronics are really bad and you are anble to see their skeletons. And even worse everything needs paint. But yeah hankatten (The male cat) and vildsvinet (The wild boar) are super fun.
I went to dismaland it was amazing! I was so thankful that was I able to go. One of one things I always wanted to see was damian hursts unicorn in falamadhyde and I was so overjoyed to see it. I also know the miserable looking girl with the mickey ears In the photo out the front lol
After seeing all these how come no ones thought of making a celtic fay land like having a kelipe Animatronic come out of a lake or something or a selkie and have more irish myths base rides or something
i have to say i was not expecting to see bonbon land on this list that theme park was basicly my childhood but yeah its filled whit basic danish humor so most parens where okay whit it we do have a kids cartoon about a guy and his long wily so its not far off that the park was a succsees but now the park really just needs a face lift
Land of Oz and Dismaland look like a post apocalyptic wonderland/Wasteland❤️. And if there’s Zombies there you better know some who is definitely a Tallahassee type character❤️

Diggers Land sounds like a great way to give future excavators a taste of their future and also make kids that might have sensory issues br able to see the tools won't harm them. That's a very interesting Park.
Yeah im kinda sad that they were sold i only got to see them a few times as a child:( But yeah its a really fun place to be i love to visit there especially at Halloween the mazes they have are so fun!
The commercial of the Bonbon land part in the beginning is spoken in Dutch. I got confused for a bit because I don't remember a park like this in Holland, but it was Denmark XD
Funny how those hippos are now running rampant all over South America. Hippo is the best tank in the game so it makes sense that they could easily adapt
It is! The humor really just shows that us danes dont really care about stuff like that, parents dont see a problem taking their Kids to the park and kids just finds it fun!
