You are absolutely right. It's art so she listening to her heart instead of her brain. Björk sings every time like it was the last song in her life... Also it's a kind of "rock & roll" thinking... Doesn't matter if I destroy my voice, I do my best, not 100 but 300%!!!
I AM FREAKING OUT. 1. Björk is my favorite artist of all time. 2. my friend put the Cilla Black version of this song on a mix for me in 2014 and I've been obsessed with it ever since. 3. NOW I FIND THIS AND I AM FREAKING OUT
People keep complaining that this is unreleased, but it's obvious why it wasn't. It's a fantastic performance, but... she performed without a microphone thus a soundboard recording does not exist. This is a crowd / ambience recording. More importantly, the quarted played an incorrect note towards end of the second chorus. That also would not have been able to be corrected as they had no soundboard feed / stems to work from. Gorgeous rendition nonetheless.
@@quinnthereaux7719 I know your post is 2 years old lol but yes. She performed with the Brodsky Quartet for two special concerts in December 1999 at Union Chapel where she performed without a mic. She wanted to make use of the amazing acoustics to its fullest.
Clearly Bjork is one individual with absolutely no singing skills. the fact that she's "made it" just reflects really poorly on the past few decades of the entertainment business and a populace with no standards or taste. The Brodskys should also stick to slightly offbeat string quartet repertoire.
The fact that you pick Björk of all people to hightlight what's "wrong with the entertainment business" is asinine. If anything she should have been much more successful and appreciated than is the case.
