Sindri and Ísadóra are her children, Sindri features on Ancestress a song about the life of his late grandma (Björk's mother), who he was close to. Ísadóra, who is entering her 20's, features on Her Mother's House, a song about kids leaving their parent's house.

When Bjork repeats 'Undo' at the end of Her Mother's House... like the parallels and the strength of that word when compared to death. It's so touching the way she tributed her mother in this album

Dear Benn i still hope that you make a reaction to her "Utopia" Album. Because is like the missing link between "Vulnicura" and "Fossora". For example "Allow" was original recorded for "Utopia" and has all the flutes in it. They are the mood of "Utopia". And "Utopia" is the only album you didn´t react too. I really love "Utopia".

I can’t believe how much I relate to your reaction! Fossora is absolutely a career highlight for Björk. How thrilling that she’s still topping herself & it’s her 10th record! I totally feel transported listening to this album, I took a nature walk today and listened to it, it was truly magical. 🍄

This album is a masterpiece….the way there are subtle nods to and motifs from each one of her previous albums… Allow and Trölla Gabba are top 2 i fear

I’ll never understand the hate towards Ovule, to me it’s one the best songs on the album together with Her Mother’s House and Fossora

i am still so processing this i heard it after being high so it was a lot HAHAH but it’s really great and i love it, it’s so different, even to what i was expecting lol, i just love that her children are on this album so much, it feels so personal

A lot of the songs on the album are about the death of her mother, Sorrowful Soil was written before her death, while ancestress was written after her death. She said the first one was written as an Icelandic eulogy with the cathedral vibes but the second one was written as her own eulogy after she felt it was disrespectful for a priest to do so himself when he didn’t knew the person who had died

To me Fossora almost feels like a culmination of every album from Biophilia onward. The fascination with the Earth and science of Biophilia, the heartrending grief of Vulnicura (this time for her mother), and the messy process of healing from Utopia. It manages to center the human voice like in Medúlla, and the marriage of classical and dance from prior records has only gotten more extreme. I always thought "Crystalline" to be her most extreme dance music experiment, until "Atopos" came trouncing along with its chamber music reggaeton rave nightmare that I can't get enough of hahaha

This is by far my favourite album of hers since Medulla. I like every track. Stick with Ovule if you can, it grew on me. I'm so excited to love a Bjork album again.

I commented the same thing in other videos from this era of hers, she definitely put all of her albums in a box and let it procreate. I hear hints of Medulla, Volta, Utopia and a lot more. Definitely her best since Vespertine. Feels like a tribute to her own sound, her trajectory. I'm just speechless. When you realise that Isadora featuring Her Mother's House is her daughter, it just hits different. It must be so weird for her to see her mother passing and then looking at her daughter and knowing that one day they won't be together also... It just baffles me that Björk, after all these years can still put together such an amazing piece of work. So personal, so modern. She just doesn't get stuck in time. Some might say that they prefer this or that album, and that's fair. But damn, Björk still here gracing us with her amazing art and we actually should be grateful. For me Björk is special because she doesn't do music as a product to sell and top at the charts. She just does what she was born to do. You can see her icelandic aura built into her music, and it is so organic, like her country. I'm just glad she exists, her music heals me so many times. And you should actually react to Utopia, i think it can surprise you. Allow is kinda a little sister from that album. There's lot of flutes also, it's a more chill album if compared to Vulnicura, which was a mourning album.

I'm glad you enjoyed this album! I've been enthralled with the album all day! It's one of my favorite Björk albums as well, and I'm a long time fan! I thoroughly enjoy all of her albums, including her past 4... But this is the best she has done in about 15 years. It's exciting! It's catchy! It experiments, and it always pulls it off. The second half of the album gets me PUMPED! It's just a happy fucking album. 💚

awwwww, baby’s first björk era. 🥹 they grow up so fast, don’t they? i understand that ovule may not be easy for some but i’ve seen this song grow on a lot of fans, so it is possible. of course one doesn’t have to like every song on an album, but if you’d like to try here’s how. i find that on most of her more challenging tracks, you just need to be able to ground yourself to appreciate it. the biggest complaint of this song is that people seem to think there is no vocal melody, which i strongly disagree. There are very melodic phrases in the vocals, what’s missing is repetition, so most people get lost in it as they find it aimless. if you’re looking for a hook in there, then you’re looking in the wrong place. the hook in ovule is in the melody of the accompanying trombone and some of the beats. listen to how the trombone melody repeats then notice how she adds variations to that repeating theme; same goes with the beats on this song. once you’ve anchored yourself to those two elements, you’ll be able to appreciate how the vocals dances around the 2 repeating elements of the track and learn to love the melodies in it. been really enjoying your reactions to b’s albums, well done, mate! hope to see you reacting to the videos soon. to paraphrase rupaul, if you’re not watching the videos, you’re only getting half the story! good luck with ovule.

Haha, we had extremely opposite reactions to Ovule. I cried like a baby when I listened to it the first time. The last time I cried with a Björk song it was Moon from Biophilia. I don't know if it's my favourite from Fossora, but it was when I felt the meaning of the album and maybe the reason why I love listening to Björk almost daily since my childhood.

Out of all the non singles, my favourites are Victimhood, Allow, Fungal City and Her Mother's House. Definitely loving her new sound!

Y'know what's more epic? Sindri and Isadora are her son and daughter, her roots. Fossora turns my life upside down. Every single detail i see everywhere make me more obsessed and love it more and more. I can't explain, she impressed me since Atopos, but now i'm just vibing, trying to sing along because my soul claims that, it's all perfect. I was not impressed like that since RENAISSANCE and MOTOMAMI. And yes, it's a journey in a fungi forest. And yes, we are the fungal too. And another thing i think amazing to spell is: Ovule and Mycelia is to introduce we to the next songs, because mycelios are the fungal's roots and Ovule it's because of the women, the birth.

Ovule was one of the easiest songs for me to get into on the album. surprised how many people don't care for it. Anyway loved watching your reactions. This album is amazing and is a contender for my top 5 of the year.

You should have listened to Utopia. Allow was a scrapped song from utopia. Its straightforward song about her and arca's friendship. Utopia is her best album in my opinion with homogenic

Bjork is really wearing me out with this album...I had a difficulty with Utopia and hoped she would make it a bit easier to listen to the next album, but I even can't get through this video reaction. Sorry Bjork, but now I move on from this and prefer all albums prior to Utopia...it's a real struggle But thanks for sharing this video

Medulla meets biophilia x vespertine

Fossora should've been the lead single. So catchy, but also intense. Love this inspired album. Some really beautiful songs. My favorite Bjork album since Volta (2007). Way more listenable than the unnecessarily tedious Biophilia (2011), Vulnicura (2015), & Utopia (2015).

Yesss I’m so glad to see your reaction after all this time🎉 (except ovule cause what the heck 😡😡). I will say if you plan to review Utopia then prepare yourself, I find Fossora to be like top 4-5 but utopia is easily her worst to me. Even though there are some beautiful songs, there are definitely some huge duds that completely ruin the atmosphere and I would even say round out the bottom of her entire discography for me personally. I don’t think liking Fossora will mean you automatically like Utopia.

It's a great Björk album, but I'm disappointed. She pushed the happy and techno angle when only like two songs are like that. I think she should have made a double album. She released nothing for a long time and of all people a double would make sense by now. An Ancestress disc, and an Atapos disc. The sad and the happy. I was needing her new era Debut like feel that Atapos has, but it's all of her albums in the style of her last two albums. It's great but it's not something I'd have said she spent all this time on. So it's 8 out of 10 for sure, but I doubt I'll listen to it again in the near future. I needed what Atapos was offering and that's what she promised, but the whole album is like Ovule and Ancestress. 3 tracks are Medulla like interludes. It's actually a very short, very sad album. Atapos almost doesn't fit it, and is WAY too short. I hope someone does an extended mix like Thunderbolt 's King Cannibal Mix.

Ovule is the greatest song of the álbum. For me. And it’s great to disagree!

art is supposed to make you uncomfortable. You'll look back in a few years and cringe at yourself for cringing at the song.

i'm not yet sure about this piece. is it just an extension of utopia, which is in my opinion her worst album? i wished for more simplicity in her music. i thought it was about time to stip back all this disturbances and unneccesary coplexity just for the sake of music. less masks, less headpieces, less costumes and more björk again. i was in the first row of her last show in berlin and i could see none of her

Very complicated album. Good and bad. I hate all the electronic speed techno . The best track of the album : her mothers house : absolute perfection.

The album doesn't touch me at all this time. Where are the beautiful arrangements like on Vulnicura? Everything sounds bulky, I no longer recognize any songs. I wish they would make more catchy albums again. I'm thinking of the wonderful winter album vespertine from 2001 or her probably greatest hit Homogenic... That was my avant-garde queen. But what's the matter with her? Apart from the end of Freefall, I like the song Allow and Atopos, maybe also the song for her mother, somehow I also like the dark Victimhood. But I'm out for the rest. Pity 😢
