I have yet to find a live version where she captures the original high pitch. I imagine it is quite stressful and maybe was enhanced in the studio version?
@@paulmirabella9960 I figured as such. That would be very difficult to replicate with all the stress of performing live and doing that show after show i would imagine would strain her voice so much. Have a good one!
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 but there is hun, it’s part of the fantasies you have when your in love with someone, you hate that you have thoughts about others you give up all of your desires to be loyal to your partner, maybe you don’t understand the song
He offers A handshake Crooked Five fingers They form a pattern Yet to be matched On the surface simplicity But the darkest pit in me It’s pagan poetry Pagan poetry... One of the best song of the world.
WRITTEN, SINGLE, TOUCHED AND VISUAL POETRY OF THE BEST QUALITY! I was a teenager, I remember at the time that this clip of the song "Pagan Poetry" by this Icelandic singer Bjork, made a lot of controversy when it was released, I read in magazines, getting banned from MTV. According to my perception the clip can be divided into two parts. The first is basically composed of sex between abstract forms alternated with images of needles, piercings and collars being inserted into a woman's body. In the second part, Bjork is finally shown wearing a "wedding dress". Detail: This dress leaves Björk's breasts on display and is theoretically supported by the piercings and necklaces shown in the first part of the video. By having some "sex and nudity scenes" the unsuspecting may consider the video appealing and pornographic, however, it is far from it. The purpose of pornographic content is to sexually excite, whoever has seen knows what I am talking about, far from the purpose And the emotions of "Pagan Poetry." With all these needles, Björk's bipolar expressions, which now both cries, smiles, and surrealism in the sexual scenes, the transmitted feeling is basically pain, despair, and a near loss of sanity. A wedding dress is a symbol of love, after all a couple just gets married (or should be) when they both love each other. But the dress used in the video is only maintained thanks to the various painfully used necklaces and piercings By the singer. Therefore, love exists only close to her pain? The letter of the song does not give much detail on the reason for this pain.Infidelity? Unrequited love? Moral questions? Or worse, would the lover himself be the one who hurts her? , For whatever reason, love hurts and Björk, managed to pass all this pain so much for those who listen to the song and its silent and distressed I love him / her, both for those who see the instability of Their expressions in the video. Shocking, dark, mysterious, beautiful and painful, in short "Pagan Poetry" is a true work of art. What charmed, enchanted and enchanted those who see and hear!
Literally gives me shivers. The amount of skill this woman has is absolutely astonishing; Definitely one of the best music artists of all time, if not best.
There is just so much more of, what's the word.....charm maybe, allure, when she opens her eyes as that most wonderful voice of hers sends out its pangs. Some musicians do that, they keep their eyes closed for the longest moments, if not throughout their songs, as they put out their art. She has such beautiful eyes to go along with her beautiful voice! I like it better when she opens her eyes is what I'm trying to say here. It adds so much more to the music.
I think they are both artistically brilliant and both extremely talent and out of this world. They are on the same level but they are completly different . Kate bush paved the way for artists like bjork because kate was so unique and it allowed others to be different aswell
She can indeed, remember that our voice is an instrument, there are muscles, we get tired, we get sick, it's not always safe for an artist to pass the voice limits... She just protects her voice...
Also, she hits a remarkably high note (though clear & without as much force) in "Bachelorette" live on many occasions (return TONIGHT/show you THE WAY), as well as a few killer notes in Play Dead. I think what @Duvan said is exactly right...she protects her voice, but occasionally will unleash it...like in the studio for a promising take, or on a big live recording she intends to sell, eg.
It’s definitely not effects. You can hear when someone uses auto tune and it’s only ever used to bump the voice the tiniest amount, any more than this and it’s obvious to the ear. You get to have several takes when recording so it’s safer to be risky in the studio. If you can’t hit that note every single time, you wouldn’t risk it live & that’s probably why she doesn’t do it live. Too stressful.
I always though the Riverside Church was the best performance of this song....but not anymore. Absolutely Amazing. I sure wish Bjork would come to the states.
