Lol i don’t know what BL you usually saw but thai , korea, philiphinas, China all do BL with out sexualizing the actors. But the true different is the Korea produce in my opinion more realistic story’s of BL in comparation of thai ( the main producer of BLs in Asia)

Most of the bl manhwas I've read were Korean. Im glad some artists there can fully create what they want without the trouble of being judged. Damn korea makes some bomb bl's tho🔥

recently, I watched some Filipino BL and they did a pretty good job too

@@granville7 not really tho. Still a newbie. I'm a Filipino myself but only 2 bls captured my heart. Gaya sa Pelikula and the microseries Meet me outside and those two are highly recommended (and btw, both those two were created by the same director and writer). Recently, Philippines have been releasing a lot of bl and they're going for quantity over quality. That sucks

The problem with Filipino bls is its extremely low budget and it is quite obvious once you watch one as compared to other asian bls. They are just salvaging it through great plots, OSTs and scriptwriting, other than that, it's pure mediocre. Even the acting is quite cringey. They didn't bother putting up their actors first through intense acting workshop before throwing them out to spotlight.

@@marksanchez3252 yeah ikr. Not just bl but Filipino films in general. When I watch ISTAY documentary, I was so amazed on how they tried to perfect everything. The actors, even the supporting and extras went through a very tedious workshop, just for them to perfect their personality. Scenes, eventhough it took them a lot of efforts and time, were being redone just to ensure that every details, even the small ones are present. Filipino films can never do that. Filipino films tend to go for the cliche, the romcom or vice ganda thingy theme and it's so annoying asf. I know budget is a big factor but they can't even salvage it with great acting and most specifically, storyline. Filipino films will always be mediocre. The only bl that get my attention is GSP and Meet Me Outside, both made by the same director and writer. Other bl, nah cringe asf
