This is such a beautiful album no one should die at his age

This is amazing. I really wish I could have heard it sooner. I’m the same age as Kai and it’s unbelievable to me that he’s gone so soon. As a musician myself I really get the struggle and it’s devastating to see that some people go as far as taking their own lives in such situations. I think Kai had a bright future ahead of him and he would have released a lot of great material but unfortunately it won’t happen anymore. Thank you for this inspiring work of art, Kai.

Kai demonstrates the rare ability to imbue his songs with emotion that feels unquestionably authentic and relatable. You can feel his soul resonating from these songs. I can think of many extremely talented artists who are not capable of this and few who are. I hope this comparison won't come across as pretentious or cheap but this feels like if we lost Jeff Mangum after his first EP years before he had a chance to create On Avery Island or ITAOTS. He clearly had so much nascent ability that will never get the chance to develop into something even greater than this. There are some flaws in the songwriting and performance you could point to if you wanted to nitpick but that all falls away because his sound immediately creates an inviting space you want to be in with him, and I'm sure he would have rapidly improved in those areas and created some incredible albums. But at least he left us with this beautiful EP, a selfless gift. RIP and thank you Kai.

seeing another small artist, let alone one the same age as me take their own life it makes me sad it makes me think about the night i tried to take my own life i feel horrible about it still but i’m glad i’m here rest in peace, it’s a shame we lost you

How is this so good

past few days have been rough for me. ive been way too over emotional. this album might just be one of the most beautifully put together things ive ever heard and ever will hear. not a day goes by that i dont listen to this entire track. im in awe. i cant even describe this with words, you just gotta stay up till 1am, put your headphones in and take it all in to understand. i found kai from brad a few days ago and im still crying over it all. rest in peace man. seeing old messages he sent makes me cry, he was far too young. i want you all to know that youre loved and theres help out there.

Discovered your music through Brad Taste, and was blown away by the talent and craftsmanship of this work. Then discovered your story and was blown away by the sense of loss and sadness. Thank you for bringing this into the world, and I truly hope you are at peace in the next one. RIP Kai.

I can’t stop coming back to this masterpiece of an album. Kai is able to perfectly capture his emotion inside of these songs, making a sound that brings both comfort and depression. I’m so sorry you had so much noise going on inside your head. I hope your mind is at peace now. This will forever be one of my favorite art pieces. Thank you for existing, you will not be forgotten.

This is a masterpiece. This felt like reuniting with a loved one after months of not seeing them. Like the first sleep you have in their warm embrace. Safe, comfortable, home. Rest in peace friend, the world will miss you and your unique sound.

I've never heard an album that makes me feel so many emotions. Comfort and sadness. The fact that a 17 year old made this, an album better than what most artists are making, is something impressive. It's sad to old AOTY reviews saying how much potential Kai had, only to know what he did. It's rough. It's a reminder that suicide should never be a choice.
