Pity the views weren't so good eh?? 😳 What an unreal landscape. Got to get over there this year for some of that. Great film. Loved the salmons eye views too!

Superb! Reminds me of my attempt a few years back in the Spring. Weather turned very quickly and at one point we were caught out in the only white out blizzard I've experienced. Thankfully didn't last long but in the end we got beat back by the weather only two thirds of the way up. The underwater sequence was a touch of inspiration - what a unique perspective. Thanks!

Thanks so much Jay, I really enjoyed walking this one, first time in a long while where I've genuinely been stopped in my tracks by the views. It's breathtaking on the right day and such a shame you got caught out when you did it. It'd definitely be worth another go, I'm thinking about doing this one again when we've got some snow on the ground. Good luck for next time if you make another attempt 👍🏻

Great video. Thanks for posting. Climbed this amazing mountain back in 2004 and 2005.

Thanks Rosa, glad you enjoyed it. It's amazing over there and I'll definitely be heading back across to do some more

Also, may I suggest Torridon and Liathach, my favourite mountain -- and then An Teallach, further north?

+Rosa Lichtenstein all on the list of 'to do's' Rosa, along with a few more, this was number 101 so I've still got a little way to go...😖

Excellent film, Mark. I'm new to your work but have now subscribed and look forward to seeing more. I'm coming up to stay in Loch Carron for 2 weeks at the end of October so will try and get over to Bla Bheinn......and up to Torridon!

Well done Mark, some stunning scenery. Looking forward to visiting some of those mountains most likely next year now. Atb Ray.

It's absolutely breathtaking over there Ray, the shots I've got don't do it justice. I'm definitely breaking these ones down into single summit days though, they can be pretty hard going! I'll look forward to seeing some Skye videos from you. ATB Mark

Have to be honest and not a great lover of very airy walks. Never bothered me when I was younger, so must be an old man thing getting. Want to do them but do have a little bit of trepidation.
@MarkBeecroft

+Renegade Scot I'll be honest too Ray, I'm not great up there myself at times, not a huge lover of exposure. Sgurr Nan Gillean was a definite 'twitchy' moment when I got to the top. There's a few I've got my eye on but reading other people's walk reports is putting me off a bit!

Now that looked like a good day! Never been to Skye but it is definitely on the list of places to visit with the camera. I am sure that you could have done a time lapse on the top when you stopped to admire the view! Love the new intro and the 'outro'...very cool.

It's stunning across there on the right day, you'd be able to get some amazing shots for your channel. I did consider a time-lapse at the top but was pushing for time a little, plus I never sit still for long...

Mark Chaplin Thanks for watching. This has to be one of my favourite mountains, the views across to the Cuillin are breathtaking, so I hope you get a good day for it ☀️

How long did that take to get from the car park to the summit? I am heading to Skye next week and was wondering about heading up if I have time. Those views are outstanding and a place I would really love to get up to get some photos, anywhere decent on the way up to pitch a tent? cheers

Ryan Raymond Photography Hi Ryan, it’s a pretty simple walk to be honest and I can usually be up and down in well under 4hrs, depending on which route I take. You’re not wrong about the views, on the right day, they are pretty spectacular and it’s probably one of my favourite hills. As for a camping spot you’d probably be able to pitch a small tent somewhere in the Corrie, near to the huge boulder (you’ll know it when you see it) or another option would be to turn left in the Corrie and a short ascent would put you next to a small lochan which would give you some nice views. Fingers crossed for good weather for you 🤞

@@MarkBeecroft Brilliant Thanks very much Mark. I'll see what time I have on the clock next week maybe a bit tight. I live in Inverness so it's not far really, was over there 2 weeks ago for some filming for Bannan the BBC Gaelic Drama so I made an excuse to the missus to head over the day before to get some photos 😁👍 may need to do that same. Also really want to head up Sgurr na Strì catch a sunset, some Astrophotography and a sunrise, that would be awesome. 👍 Fingers crossed the weather is ok.

Ryan Raymond Photography Sgurr na Stri has to be my all time favourite ‘little hill’, with stunning views. If you’re carrying a lot of camping and camera camera kit up there I’d recommend getting the Misty Isle boat trip from Elgol into Loch Coruisk and heading up from there. It’d save you humping it all in from Sligachan!
@sgurrtours

@@MarkBeecroft Good idea Mark, I did think that, I know someone who I think works on one of the tour boats but can't remember which. I did think that so maybe an option, is it easier and quicker from Loch Coruisk? How long do you think?
@MarkBeecroft
@MarkBeecroft 6 лет назад
Ryan Raymond Photography Definitely easier and quicker from Coruisk. The walk in from Sligachan carrying all your gear would be hard going. Last time I did it from there it took me about six hours to walk in, summit and walk out again. From the Loch I reckon you should be able to push up there in an hour, depending on how much you’re carrying. Get the Misty Isle to drop you on the afternoon, summit, get your shots and be back out to Elgol on the first boat in the morning 👍🏼

Wow ! Spectacular views !!! Great video, just returned from my 1st visit to Skye it is breathtaking !!! Only did low level hiking as I was finding my way around ! How was the route finding on this walk? And where would you recommend starting from ? Cheers Korkey. Find myself coming back to this video again 8 months later, absolutely jaw droppingly stunning ⛰👌👣
