This is a video of Black 5 number 44871 working the Dorset Coast Express from London Victoria to Weymouth and return, Its not everyday when you hear the words that Steam is going to lead back from Weymouth to Waterloo so I decided to Set foot and make a plan for this charter, I started at Barnes Bridge where the Black 5 is seen coming off the Curve at Barnes and heading for Hounslow, Next I hadn't planned to do Woking as I knew it was going to stop however as it was 13 minutes behind schedule I thought it may be best, Next came Andover, Now again I wasnt planning to do Andover however it turned out to be a good shot so all was worth it, After some Early Lunch from the Café I got back on the trains and headed for Weymouth to get some static shots of 44871 being serviced, I was then hoping to go to Upwey and film 44871 tackle the bank to Bincombe tunnel however the weather pushed in and so I decided to head to Parkstone instead, After the 5 passed at Parkstone I headed to Southampton Central, Passing the 5 at Brockenhurst I knew I was in for a little wait, at 20:03 the 5 came through after receiving a top up of water in the Goods Loop, Winchester was Next, it was close with the 20:33 to Weymouth however that proved to be comfortably clear, Passing the 5 at Basingstoke, I then went to Woking partially because that's where my train home was from, The 5 is seen rolling in on Platform 2 which is rare and then setting off to Waterloo via the Fast to Byfleet and New Haw, A great day out, enjoy
