POV: The young man's words, as well as his lived experience, as he described it, are an indication of an intersection of Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome and Stockholm Syndrome. This coming from someone who, as child/teenager did not miss an episode of The Dukes of Hazzard. I didn't know any better 😔
A flag representing a separatist faction that attempted to secede due to no longer being able to keep slaves of another race… isn’t racist? Someone get that brotha a history book
Some people will do anything for a 1minute of fame. He didn’t go to a white school he may have worked for some white people he wasn’t raised. I had family that got angry with me for moving to Africa, that was 4 years ago never looked back. Alabama is a poor state and his dialogue proved he went to a black public school
Jay, unfortunately, a lot of our people are lost. I see it every day. It happens with educated and uneducated African Americans. I know this is a totally different subject, but say something negative about Portugal and see how some African Americans react. I have been shamed by a few pro Portugal RU-vidrs because I speak about my experience there. I can sum it up by saying that many black folks feel the need to protect Europeans. Maybe one day we'll truly be free.
The only explanation is that the guy pleading allegiance to the flag used by his oppressors, it is clear that he is suffering from the Stockholm syndrome
