I am super proud of the way this tattoo turned out! It made me even more excited about it when I saw my client's reaction.
Doing these high contrast black and grey tattoos is one of my favorite to do. Ive gotten comments asking how to tattoo like this, and my answer is always the same. You have to learn the basics of tattooing as a beginner tattoo artist. How to line a tattoo, how to shade a tattoo, and how to design a tattoo are all very important building blocks you need. Step by step, and eventually your skills are where they need to be!

I’ve found that using a little distilled water on my paper towels keeps the skin clean and doesn’t mess with my stencil. Picked that up from some portrait guys, hope this helps! Great video

Sure you can. You just need a coil that is able to slow down to be able to get spaced out dots. Rotaries are just easier for that kind of thing on your wrist

What is your needle hang when peppering/dotshading? I see some aggressive movements, so I assume you work with a needle nearly hanging out of the cartridge? Lovely work, as always.

I’m there with ya on the dry ppr towel. If ya can be soft then it’s a better way to go. Nothing witch hazel or green soap later won’t come back and soothe irritation

I got a question kinda related, but what do you do when your client wants to tap out halfway thru a session? Do you tell em to suck it up or you reschedule and hope you can place a stencil again.

On these larger ones I tell them the goal is to get all the information from the stencil into the skin at least. I move pretty quick so it’s never a problem, but if I had do I’d pick a good spot to end up replacing the stencil later

@@ThatTattooGuyOfficial right, I love the clients who say they can sit for hours but 30 min in their all about breaks. I’ve got this client who’s about half done with this septagrahm (seven sided star) and dreading placing a new stencil to match up the rest of the lines

Amazing work, man! Congratulations! Do you always use round shaders instead of liners? And once the stencil is done, what do you recommend using on the paper towel to clean the ink? Btw, really glad with my Avenger 2 Pro, your review was the final point to buy it, thank you, very appreciated!!

@@marcelorego96 thank you! I do use liners as well but I’ve been getting away from using tight liners. In my experience they just do more damage to the skin with how I like to tattoo. I use green soap and distilled water on my towel to clean the skin of ink. Glad to help!
