Great tutorial on light and dark!

Wow! The few times I've watched, I can see a lot of details emerging in Raybonto's painting, his practice shows,. He is awesome! He really listens to what you say and learns the lessons. His birds show so much movement.

I wish your comments on black and white thinking vs nuanced strategies were part of every student’s education. Adults too. Your narration and tips about drawing kitty eyes and kitty shapes as kitty examples of observing light and dark boundaries is very illuminating! And charming and fun! RESPECT.

trying to photograph my black cat, I think of her as absorbing the light or reflecting it. so that influences my sketching.

I really enjoyed this session. I painted several polar bears with part of the body in sunlight and the other part of the body in shade. I was surprised that, when looking at the bears, I still thought of them as white. Another fun thing was learning the different combinations of blues and brown to make black and grey. Thank you, Jack for conducting the session, and thank you, Yvea for posting. I'm looking forward to the next video.
