Rosa Frei is a Swiss photographer residing in Morocco since 2007.
Rosa's work is deeply influenced by the breathtaking landscapes that surround her. The desert, with its ever-shifting sands and boundless horizons, is Rosa's muse.
In Rosa's own words:
"My passion lies in capturing the ethereal beauty of the sand
dunes, where nature's grandeur and the passage of time are vividly
etched into the landscape.
In my photographic journey, I have embraced Intentional Camera
Movement (ICM) as a technique to convey the essence of the desert. ICM
allows me to transcend the literal and explore the abstract, blurring
the lines between reality and imagination. Through this technique, I
strive to capture the fluidity and dynamism of the dunes, conveying
their perpetual motion and the play of light and shadow.
My photographs aim to evoke the profound silence and meditative solitude of these landscapes, inviting viewers to embark on a journey of contemplation and discovery.
Each image I create is a dialogue between the camera, the desert, and
my own inner vision. I seek to capture not just what I see, but what I
feel-a connection to the timeless, the infinite, and the sublime.
Through my lens, I invite viewers to experience the desert's raw
beauty, its delicate textures, and its captivating rhythms.
Photography, for me, is not merely a means of documentation but a way
to explore the intersection of reality and dream. It is an art form
that allows me to express my deep reverence for the natural world and
share the serene yet powerful essence of the desert with others. In
every photograph, I aim to convey the spirit of the dunes, the magic
of intentional movement, and the enduring allure of the Moroccan
landscape.
