Thanks for watching our video. In this video I share and discuss some of my black and white wildlife photos captured in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier park to hopefully inspire other wildlife photographers to also experiment with black and white especially in the kgalagadi. there are three schools of thought when it comes to black and white and that is the group of photographers that capture in black and white only, the group like me that capture in colour and then convert to black and white retaining both files and the last group that capture in black and white through camera that can only capture in black and white such as some Leica's. Black and white wildlife photography is a genre that can grow and has a great potential. Editing black and white images today are also much easier than a few years ago due to the new AI editing software and good recipes of many plugins.

Another awesome blog Joe .. not yet finished watching this but seeing Hannes’s images they are edited well , monochrome images have their own value in the right application ! Drama , textures, details and tonality come alive in these images compared to a colour . Wildlife images like those of the Apex predators make fantastic subjects in monochrome ! Sadly this black and white photography is over looked and undervalued by a lot of photographers . Much appreciated Joe for your hard work you dedicate to you channel . 🙏🏻 stay well ! Keep it up 👍

Txs for the support and watching Ross. It is overlooked yes but I want to actually lead this community based on the photographic competition to where photographers grow into being more confident in seeing and editing black and white opportunities. I already see a willingness.

Hey Joe, loved every minute of it! If I can say one thing, when you're finished using your pointer, please move it off the picture, I found it distracted me from listening to you!

Hi Victor. Problem is I cant see it as big you see it. My view is only the small usual pointer. I also cannot work without it so viewers will not see what Im talking of. i must just learn to keep it off the screen when not pointing thanks. Going to practice next round. Thanks for watching

I like the ostrich at 13:55, the background dark clouds make it seem like the opposite side of a deep hole with light coming out from and the ostrich looking down over the edge. What does it see down there?

They have excellent eye sight and they slowly approach dunes and scroll over the dunes cautiously always on the look out for lion, cheetah, leopard the predators that prey on them
