That really only took 8 minutes? I gotta get a pressure cooker! Hey, I'm wanting to use my crockpot with chicken breasts and something with honey. Any suggestions?
THANK YOU! I made just over a lb. Fantastic flavors. I had the same problem with under done chicken so I stirred it and did another 8 minutes with a natural release the second time. Came out done and silky chicken. Not tough at all. I added a splash of fish sauce as well. Yum.
Black bean chicken is one of my favs to order...didn't think I could make it at home...until Flo showed me how. Grateful! 💖 your YT channel; it's one of the best!
Thank you so much for the recipe!!! I am really missing my spare ribs but cannot get any right now that cut of meat is non-existent right now. I will be making this recipe this coming week. Stay safe! On another note, you are the reason why I am making amazing curry chicken from the instant Malaysian curry paste from the packs, I am down to my last one lol but still very thankful for that video you made a few years ago. You are awesome!
Today I finished making your congee recipe and actually caught myself saying "the taste" in dude's voice right before my first bite 😂. Thank you for the recipes!
great content/recipe as usual. Just an observation - Dude never did the tasting of Chinese dish with rice , i mean with that liquid gold that he aptly described :-)
Flo, I do not have a pressure cooker. Could I use my spaghetti pot with water in the bottom and the dish on a trivia in that pot. How long would I have to cook it. If there is better way please tell us.
I’m so gonna make this very soon. I have all the ingredients but no pressure cooker, but I’ll find a way. Would the over work? Or should i steam. New subbie here 😋 for your yummy recipes
Flo Lum I started eating brown right when I was on Nutrisystem supposed to be better for you. I like it but I also love basmati white. What’s a guy to do?
I'm lolita castro guanzon your new subsciber i like your procedure simple and quick cooking but so flavorful less oil love ginger onion garlic amd less oil healthy for senior we can not eat everything what is on the table. Stay safe always and God bless you
Hmmm! This looks totally yummy!! I'm more inclined to make this rather than you black bean spareribs. That's a personal preference 'cause I'm not really a huge fan of spareribs. There is another plus to this recipe ... I might even be inclined to try it with chicken thighs even though, I'm not a huge chicken thigh fan either! 👍😊
Ok. I would NEVER have thought of doing something like that in the Instant Pot! What a brilliant idea. And hello from Ottawa. Hope the weather is good out west and that life isn’t too hard under all the restrictions. Though Dude has said he’s not suffering cuisine wise ;-).
You inspired me to finally get my Instant Pot because of this extensively yummy looking dish (love the expression of Dude's face when he did the testing, what a lucky dude). Anyways, your procedure and the way you explain the steps are so clear that I can almost taste the deliciousness of the dish. Thanks for your videos, amazing.
Made (2) batches of Chicken thighs and drumstick this past weekend. One with Shaoxing wine and the other with Bourbon. The family loved both. Going to make the spare ribs next.
Thank you for doing this recipe Flo!! I had been using your pork riblet recipe and changing out the meat so good to have a chicken recipe. I will be making this tomorrow (need to defrost the meat from the freezer).
Good afternoon. I’m trying making your black bean boneless chicken tonight. I just got a bottle of the cooking wine and was wondering if you store it in the fridge or in the cupboard after it’s opened. I’ve never used it before. Thank you and love your videos.
This is embarrassing to admit but I've never had any black bean takeout anything. How would you describe the taste? Your dish (and the ribs too) looked yummy but I'm scared to get the ingredients to make this and not have everybody love it.
Black bean is quite pungent but have a distinct flavour. You can always just add a little bit to begin with so that if they don’t like it, it won’t be so bad. Black beans are also very cheap like a $1 for a spice packet amount. All the other ingredients you’ll likely have on hand.
Oooh YUMMMM! Made this tonight and I LOVE it !💕 🥰 it took me a while to pull it all together but oh so worth it! I did make the whole recipe then had to divide it in half and cook it in two batches. (Oops) Poor Dad is patient with me and has always been adventurous with eating. He likes it too! Will be making this one again. Thanks!! Oh I took the advice and made the rice first while I got everything else together - Yes Gold! Will be very happy to have that second batch another night. Hope it freezes well! Blessings!!
You two are sooo cute😍 that looks delicious! I’m making spring rolls today after a morning hike yesterday with a quick storm early evening. Today is a perfect spring day! So I choose spring rolls.
Looks so yummy, question do you think I could substitute the chicken for tofu? Again thanks again for sharing another great recipe ☺️ Be blessed and be well
Looks amazing and I’ll need to try it. What’s a good substitute for bourbon? I agree with dan. The last time we had takeout food in March, it just wasn’t that satisfying.
I am going to say the same. I think it’ll still take that long for the chicken to cook through. Although I haven’t experimented in the 6qt. You can try 5 minutes to start and see, if you think 8 mins is too long.
What?! How can that be? I'm sure there is a way to make them but that defies the whole simple aspect of the recipe. Well... to make it simpler just use premade sauce. 😆 It's a bit pricey on Amazon compared to the store but it is available and it's the same brand we use. We paid only $2 though. amzn.to/2zWBPhR
@@FloLum Thank you!! I will look again! The people working in both stores were non asian and could not speak english well! I reference your link above so I know what that brand looks like! I love the flavor of those beans!!!
Hi Flo I already bought a jar of black bean sauce, so if I use that instead do I still use the same portion of the ingredients (sauce) or reduce? Thanks for advice. I want to try this recipe badly LOL
Hi Flo. What brand of fermented black beans do you recommend? I have been looking and many have a lot of ingredients in them so not sure if there are some I should avoid. Thanks
