Pretty sure I saw a group of guys headed into that same valley a week or so ago while towing my boat down to 20mile.

Good chance, we saw evidence of a few other groups using the valley.

ROCK AND ROLL, Get Bill a Bear!! I love the Phantom Rock story. Well, the exercise climbing with your packs is gearing your muscles up for the Big Catch. Bill has a great Teacher, hope we will see his first. Loved the Forest Forage. Is this your Mushroom season too? Great vlog as usual. It was so beautiful. Thanks for taking us along.

The mushroom season is usually in august and September up here.

We watched a documentary recently about French Morel Mushroom Hunters. Very interesting. I have been following a few Mushroom Hunters on utube. It is fascinating. Illinois has a pretty good season, a couple breweries have made beers. I love wild mushrooms. But I found out they thin your blood. Do you make any special dishes with your finds. Hopefully you will take us on an Adventure and Cook em up.

@@marcellahicks3984 You’ll just have to wait and see! Our primary mushroom season is August-September, but some people are getting them now. I picked up mushroom foraging a few years ago and have been learning a bunch. The first few times identifying a new type is always tricky.

@@AlaskaBoys Regarding the young fiddlehead shoots, I saw someone else peel the brown outer covering off, that's the part that's hairy, before frying them up in a skillet with butter, sea salt & pepper, apparently they are delicious when they are young & tender. You'll have to try it again & show us. 😊

Wondering what binoculars your used to spot bear tracks so far away. Terrain looks similar to north end Sierra Nevada mountains. : )

I’m using the vortex viper 10x power. They have been great for the last 10 years I’ve had them.

How do you make sure that you don't accidently shot a female bear with cubs? Are the male and female black bears visibly distinguishable from each other?
@AlaskaBoys
@AlaskaBoys 2 года назад
You need to watch the bear for a bit to ensure there are no cubs around. It’s against the law to shoot a sow with cubs.

Can you stop anywhere and hunt
@AlaskaBoys
@AlaskaBoys 2 года назад
Yes and no, there are hunting regs and seasons for animals and certain areas of the state. Also, you have to respect private land, but there isn’t much up here compared to or there places.
