Hello. I found a very good sized pile of scat behind my home today, not the first time, when a big fella tore my shed door off a few years ago he left me a steaming " greeting card" as well. Lol. So the scat I came upon today, was about 10 feet from what my kids call the bear "marking tree". Its a broken birch at about 5 feet tall that we like to collect tufts of bear fur off of when we can. My son and I walked over to find that the bear marking tree was snapped over and demolished. The scat had a significant amount of grass and seed in it, I was able to go on your websight and compare it to the many other examples you have posted, thank you very much! I am in the mountains of New Hampshire, quite a bit away from redwoods and the such, but we do seem to have a very healthy and abundant black bear population. There is a fella a couple of towns over from me who rehabs orphaned cubs. He has had a few NAT GEO episodes about him. I dont know if you and he have worked together before, Ben Killum?
