@@ajpgofacoconut6191 TF2 post where someone said "idk what this jpeg of a coconut is doing here but if I remove it the game won't start" or something to that effect
fun fact: will wood doesn't read sheet music. he had to write that insane piano bit and memorize it and play it at ungodly speeds without writing it down.
for someone who's trying to learn both (and i'm almost done with okultra! yay!) i can guarantee you that rap god is faster. black box warrior is actually easy compared to that! isn't that a nice thought! :) please help me :)
Drink like 7 mountain dews then listen to this on loop while relentlessly spinning around in one of those spinny chairs for like an hour. It may not help you sing faster but I'll scare them.
"the monologue" makes me feel like an amnesiac beeing debriefed about their own Life and not understanding a single Word, wich Is an uh.. oddly specific feeling for a Song to give
if I had a nickel for every time a song had gave me that exact vibe, I would have two nickels, which ain't much but it's weird that it happened twice (The other one is amnesia was her name by lemon demon)
wby are the normal common sentences like "why dont you take a seat" and "i guess its just something people do" harder to say than the bulk of the monster monologue
here are the timestamps for anyone else who needs to repeat the verses over and over :,) verse one - 0:20 verse two - 1:20 monologue - 2:45 verse three - 3:41 good luck memorizing!
i like to imagine it’s just a song about a man being bounced around from therapist to therapist and medication to medication to treat illness without a good result. the song title comes from a Black Box Warning, which is a deadly warning on medication that can kill you. who knows, though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i wouldn’t write an extensive take on it here
@@phoneyogurt From what I've heard, you're pretty close! Apparently it's about Will Wood talking about possibly taking a medication for his bipolar that could kill him!
@@Titleknown this makes a lot of sense. As far as mental illness meds go, anti psychotics can be some of the most dangerous. I took like 100mgs of seroquel and ended up having a hella bad restless leg syndrome attack, passed out for a good day or two. It's not like that for everyone and in the past I was able to take over 1000 mgs without any problems , but it's definitely a hella realistic possiblity
It’s about an abusive therapist I think. Edit: Waitwait, Ok so OKULTRA? Yeah, it’s a play on words for the government controlled secret psychedelic drug experimentation on humans in the 1950’s-80’s (correct me if I’m wrong) called MKULTRA before it was put to a stop. Obviously I don’t know exactly what they did but an obvious way to give the drugs to people would be to prescript them secretly in medical treatments, anti-depressant, (etc.) OKULTRA is mentioned a couple other times casually throughout the album including in the FIRST SONG where in the second half Will straight up throws in a very cheerful, “OKULTRA!” And judging from Will’s history with drugs, theming an entire song on how therapy sucks makes sense.
I saw someone perform this a few hours ago (this is February.) and he started learning piano in August. It was something else. I should also note he’s 15.
To all those also learning the therapist Monologue: it’s been weeks and I’m still choking with something as easy as “nerve to steal nerves of steel.” You’re doing good. UPDATE: I HAVE IT DOWN PAT. PERFECTLY.
Everyone’s talking about the tempo of the song or the complexity of the lyrics, but it no one going to talk about how good the piano part at the beginning is? Like if the whole song was some kind of boss monologue then the beginning would sound like the thing that plays when you step into the boss arena for the first time. I don’t know how to describe it, but it would be awesome if there was a whole song with the same vibe the piano part gives, or at least an extended version of the piano.
I learned the piano part, and it's so fun to just sit around and play it without doing the rest of the song. Just the same intro part over and over. It's incredible
I started listening to this artist earlier and thought “This is what cryptids listen to.” I have since changed my theory. Cryptids is too tame and restrictive. This is the music skips would listen to.
This goddamn masterpiece of a song was stuck in my head for nearly TWO fucking years, but for the love of Christ I couldn’t remember the name, till RU-vid pulled this out and slapped me in the face with it. And holy fuck I’m I happy that I loved this song so much for it to be an ear worm for so long. Wow I went on a rant, sorry about the curses!
Before I ever read the lyrics I thought this song was about a man who went crazy and became a time traveling Ninja. I now see that I was vastly mistaken XD
Day 1 of trying to sing blackboxwarrior flawlessly: i perfectly did the first verse but the other verses made its sound like i was talking gibberish, i’ll be practicing more of this, if i made more progress in one day i will leave a update Day 2: i did the 2nd verse, small mistakes but its just the beginning, i practiced the therapy monologue a bit, very hard i’d say but im looking foward to the next day i’d say Day 3: sorry for the inconvenience, i had been very busy for 2 weeks because of exams I’m perfecting my attempt on the 2nd verse and its a bir hard but i’m getting a hand of it Day 4: sorry for the extremely long inconvenience but i have returned, i’m going to camp next month to go to norway and i may not be active for 4 weeks, but when i return i will update you guys, i got the monologue a bit right but still a bit of some stuttering, hopefully it will be gone Day 5: got the therapy monologue down, if i get to a talent show, i WILL sing this song
I interpret this song as a man or his peers reviewing how he died with lost frustration, guided by the therapist saying “did you die before your day?”, or should have died as demons and ghosts try to coerce him into insanity
My hamilton phase was useful after all i can actually sing most of this song without mumbling thanks to my dedication to learning all the really fast raps in hamilton

I memorised this entire song just to use it as a speech in the “song lyrics as a speech” assignment in my English class, it was the best thing I’ve ever done
heyo! i'm doing an assignment on The Normal Album and this song sounds incredibly familiar but for the life of me i cannot pinpoint the genre. i thought about tarantella but i'm not sure - if anyone has any other input i'd love it!

Wow... very thankyou. The music which was maked by him is very nice . I'm japanese so i want to know what he say in the music. Thank you very much for writing in English .😊 I thought this was a Nazi-themed song.🧐 I'm happy to be able to study English with my favorite song ! 😆
Just giving you a heads up that even people who's native language is English have trouble grasping what is trying to be said in the song since a lot of it almost seems like random words strung together at certain points.
Possible tip for keeping up with this: |Could be circumstantial, as I have no way to test this| Learn & keep up with 6up 5oh first, as both are fast paced with a lot going on but 6up 5oh isn't as lengthy. Let me know if this helps 👍 [ I'm still tripping up on a phrase, as well as the monologue. This possibly circumstantial tip just helped me with keeping up with the rest. ]

To the people who are trying to learn the monologue for whatever reason, check out the live in studio version of this song. The monologue is was clearer and it's spoken slower. I think it could help.
I think I realized why I like this genre of music it just unlocks deep memories of watching youruber outros this one gives me dlive vibes for some reason
