A series of obscene phone calls start to plague the residents of the sorority and it becomes clear that a psychopath is homing in on the sisters with dubious intentions. And though the police try to trace the calls, they discover that nothing is as it seems during this Black Christmas. "Stuffed with extremely tense moments, chilling cinematography, amazing characters and long-lasting dread… [this] genuine classic is completely deserving of every bit of respect and admiration it's picked up over the last 40 years."

I have seen just about every major horror film there is and I love horror and this film is the only one that is ever truly terrified me. It's just so realistic and so creepy and just so unnerving. That scene where the unseen killer is freaking out and throwing and throwing stuff all over the attic and making these animalistic screams is one of the most horrifying moments I've ever witnessed.

Whodunit seems the wrong term to me because we can't guess the identity of the psycho here. We are given a red herring in a couple of places (including Keir Dullea's character) but no member of the cast was the killer.

This movie will always have a special place in my heart! Bob Clark really made it his own and this is coming from the same Director who made A Christmas Story! I Find it so insane in a good way that you Never see Billy you really only see his shadow reflection or eye which is the most iconic and most chilling scene in the film! Where's the part where all the girls team up to kick his ass like in the 2019 remake?! This is so misogynistic and offensive! Showing women being completely defenseless against a merciless killer?! It's like it's a horror movie or something!

Lol The director humanised the female characters very well here and in fact they're by far the strongest in the film - killer aside. A bona fide classic, as for.2019's interpretation 🤮🤮🤮🤮😭

Every time I’ve started to watch this movie I’ve not for a reason or another, but I really want to after reading the comments and watching the trailer again and mostly bc I just realized that I can get it online now! It looks really intense. I mistakenly ran across the trailer for a newer version of this and upon further research also ran across a remake of this movie with Lacey Chabert made in 2006. I’m pretty sure it’s a remake of the same movie as the trailer was very similar and it has the same name of Black Christmas. All 3 have pretty well known casts in them. I didn’t see this one mentioned in the comments but of course I didn’t read them all so it could have been. Has anyone watched the 2006 version? I now feel compelled to watch all 3 of them now but remakes aren’t usually as good as the originals! Also does anyone know who is dong the voiceover at the end of this trailer? It sounds a lot like Tim Curry and he has done a lot of voiceover work but I was kinda surprised to hear this voice on a movie trailer. Since it was showing the movie had been released to dvd or blue ray I assume the voiceover may have been in more recent times. Being a Curry fan I was just curious as to if anyone had this knowledge of who the voiceover is done by? It just sounds too close to Tim Currys Distinctive voice but I could be very Wrong in my assumption! Just Curious....

Should’ve let Rob Zombie filmed the 2019 remake, this is his lane; he would’ve done a great job with it.

Saw this by accident one night several years back and thought "beter check no one is in the attic". Then I thought "maybe just barricade the bedroom door and stay up all night with a hammer".

Best scene: Barb’s death by glass unicorn. Eyeball through the door and chase down the stairwell to the basement is a close second, and then that first phone call, simultaneously so genuinely filthy and unsettling you’d be hard pressed to name another horror film that gets away with what this one does.
