It's overused so much that it has different meanings depending on situation and intonation (props to the voice actor). The other characters don't even bother to remember his actual name since this phrase is such a trademark for him. I find it amusing but it all comes down to personal preference and taste, as usual. Comedy can't satisfy everyone, there's plenty of other series everyone laughs about that I don't consider all that funny or the comedy being misplaced. I like that Black Clover literally mocks itself in every episode - and the use of repetitive comedy is one of the tools to do that. And since the show doesn't take itself too serious I also don't and enjoy it as a parody of the shounen genre.

TRIGGER Yeah Pierdot made decent long running Shounen with the sacrifice of some animation quality while bones has been putting out short beautifly animated shounen. And now a days the only anime I see getting weekly episodes consistently rather then 3-4 months a year is One Piece and Dragon Ball Super. I just felt like black clover was going to be a disaster since it was Pierdot animating it and they have a track record of stuff that really doesn't fly anymore in the modern anime industry like the 3 minute recaps with slow pacing and animation short cuts. It's a shame because the manga is actually really not bad, much better then the anime atleast

Seeing as Black Clover over the last year consistently held the third spot behind BNHA and the slip in popularity after their recent arc, I wouldn't be so sure. I like both but for vastly different reasons.

I'd rather say it's the "oh dear god is that how he acts when it's animation and not manga..." problem. It's the same reason Death Note's anime adaption was shit compared to the manga, because you can't leave things unresolved behaviour-wise in animation. The ones who adapted it were cowards who didn't dare say "We think he's an exaggerated character in the Manga, so we'll tone him down and make him human". Because, I've just read up to the newest chapter in the manga, and it's actually really decent. Not the best, but a solid shounen through and through. Which just makes it sad that the anime studio didn't understand that mangas can be exaggerated to a point that animes can't. I actually like the manga of BC more than MHA. Though anime wise MHA is gold.

I disagree with you completely shadow. IMO the show dropped in quality immensely after episode 9. That's not to say I didn't find enjoyment in it. It's just that I know it's garbage, like the fast and the furious or transformer movies.

I mean fucking hell the villain literally had no motivation at all to do what he did, the main character busts through EVERYTHING and ANYTHING without even trying, almost every girl he comes across falls in love with him... it's essentially a bad self-insert fanfiction in anime form. Darkness Prevails if I were you I’d just read it. It’s so face paced and the jokes are delivered so perfectly in the book. The writing isn’t bad and neither is the art work. There’s a lot of cliches in the book and anime but I have to say that the manga does it better, I won’t say perfectly but it does it way better due to the different pacing. It won’t feel rushed, it would feel alive like the series has a pulse to it that is steady.

Why you all want to start with the anime always... go to kissmanga and read the colored magna up to 722 or more if it got updated then go back to black (pun intended) from there till the latest chapter which is 885 ... THEN go to One Pace and start watching fan edited episodes of OP (Not everything is covered yet) but from *normal* episode 517 til new ones everything's covered... You'll hear the music getting cut at weird parts and stuff sometimes but who cares... Instead of watching 800+ episodes including filler and scenes that take too long... you can watch 471 edited ones... So start with manga 1st... coloured one I recommend I can PM you for links

If you have access to a legal way to watch One Piece already, you might want to watch One Pace instead of the normal Episodes, particularly after the middle point of the manga (you'll know when you get there) edit: I see someone already told you to do that, I concur. One Pace doesn't fix OP's animation, but it makes the whole experience much more enjoyable as a whole, finally comparable to reading the manga.

I didn't notice the shouting in MHA, so it must've felt natural to me. With others they definitely do get pretty loud for seemingly no reason.
