I think a lot is happening in this song. It's somewhat subdued, yet dramatic. It has interesting, emotional and poetic lyrics. Musically it's haunting and has a heavy drone. It has an emotionally pained vibe. For all these reasons it actually reminds me a lot of the Velvet Underground. Very good!

i liked a few of their songs when i heard them about a year ago, wrote most of the others off as pretentious. i'm really sad i did that. but also this music is hitting me at the perfect moment in my life. this makes my soul quiver.

Both this performance and the album version remind me a ton of Banshee Beat by Animal Collective. The percussion starting on the chord change especially reminds me of drums coming in halfway through this song.
