How does she keep hitting those illusive minor notes? I couldn't find them to sing them to save my life. Brilliant!

This is like a folk story book. Arcade Fire was one thing but BCNR takes aspects of that and go even further. The musicians that accompanied Arcade Fire is what the actual band of BCNR is

this sounds like if a bunch of farm animals got together in a barn and performed a folk-prog song, and this is somehow one of the best songs I listened to in 2023. When I listen to this song I imagine a lot of cartoony silly stuff but if music makes me spark my creativity like that, it must be a good way. I also love the waltz 3/4 maybe? rhythm they incorporate before CHAPTER 2

I'm from Mexico city. I wish local bands had this kinda emotional weight. I wanna get into my local scene but this guys make them all sound like a joke! Lol

"who am I to think that my selfish genes should keep going on?" - damn, I sat there with a big smile knowing how my professor would even have a bigger smile while listening to this, after lecturing us a whole semester about dinosaur puke and philosophy of biology

My personal favorite on bush hall;D incredible

My (probably wrong) interpretation of this song: Robin has broken wings, falls from trying to fly, and needs help, expecting everyone to help him with his problem. Hedgehog gives him a hand, but notably says “you’ve only got you” before suddenly dissapearing - to which Robin questions “who was The Boy”. We then hear about Mrs Mole who is lonely, and wishes for another in her life instead of just being a daughter. Through her tears she sees Robin but doesn’t recognise him, hoping it to be a “good, kind mole” - she is “wanting The Boy”. When she wipes away her tears she realises it is Robin and tells him to find Deer. However, when looking for Deer, Robin notices that Deer lives alone and has no tracks, and Robin loses all hope and questions why he should let his “selfish genes” go on. When being pulled in by mud, he looks up to see Deer who hesitantly gives him a lift. Robin then pleads that he “wont try to fly”, but ends up wanting a The Boy by the end of the song. My interpretation is that The Boy is Death. Hedgehog is the first Boy, who helps Robin when he is hurt and alone, obviously Robin needs some guide and assistance and Hedgehog appears out of nowhere: Death knows it is not Robin’s time to die yet, and so tries to help him survive. Then, Mole’s Boy seems to be a partner, but her longing and hopeless romanticism leans more toward grief and hopelessness, and she surrenders to the belief that she is just a daughter and thinks Death comes for her, but it is simply Robin reaching out. The final Boy is strangely Deer, but it makes sense if Deer is Death. At Robin’s lowest point, having no help from Mole and being unable to find Deer, he meets him despite no tracks indicating his presence. Deer/Death has begrudgingly realised that Robin is all but dead: a wild bird with broken wings is one with a target on its back, and if predators don’t get him then the elements or hunger (the worm at the beginning being his last meal?) or other trappings would, and that’s what happens before Deer approaches. Then, as Deer is giving Robin a lift (to the afterlife) Robin attempts one last time to plea for his life, he simply won’t fly instead of just falling, but that doesn’t matter for his survival. In the end, Robin accepts that he is “wanting The Boy”, and The Boy does take him - probably from the bed of flowers he landed on after trying to fly, and the rest being an imagined scenario trying to comprehend his own death.
