This cracking, toe tapping March was composed in 1934 by Norman J Adoire, Bandmaster of the Montreal Citadel, Salvation Army Band.
The second half of the march is arranged around a tune written by Sidney E. Cox, (1887-1975) a major in the Salvation Army the words are:
Deep and wide, deep and wide
There's a fountain flowing deep and wide
Yes, tis deep and wide, deep and wide
There's a fountain flowing deep and wide
It flows for me, it flows for you and this is what you have to do
T' get free from sin, just plunge right in
.... get white as snow.
Deep & wide, etc
Conducted by Phil Goodwin in the absence of Professor Nicolas J Childs who did not attend - for reasons unknown
