Black Dyke Band Dr. Nicholas Childs, Conductor IMMORTAL by Paul Lovatt-Cooper The History of Black Dyke (in German) 17. World Band Festival Luzern Brass-Gala, 26. September 2015, KKL Luzern
I am nearly crying... This wonderful band playing such a wonderful piece feals just like heaven. Such music makes the world more than just a little bit better
I love the Black Dyke Band, everything they do is incredible. This and their rendition of "Metropolis 1927" have to be two of my favorite orchestral pieces I have ever heard.
no, I find this intro very successful and yes, we in the German-speaking world need these explanations in order to understand the (great) brass movement at all!
@@larsennbutz Let me explain the brass to you: the cornet soloists in the ballad section were world class and put on a flawless performance. Percussion was awful. The xylo player couldn't keep up with the fast tempos. There were major timing issues and way too loud in the finale. I don't want to hear a cymbal roll, I want to hear that magnificent brass. This had its moments but it was not a good performance.
