Black-eyed susans, or rudbeckia, are native to Eastern and Central North America. They are drought resistant, they suffocate weeds, they attract butterflies and other insects and provide food for birds, especially American goldfinches. They spread easily, so they are perfect for vast, hard to access or mow areas.
