Hi my name is Phil i did 50yrs on the footplate i started in 1961 at Edgeley shed and I have fired this locomotive and others in my time as a fireman I finished my time out at Longsight shed in 2011 as a driver.Regards Phil.
Very nice Dan , pretty sure there’s a speed restriction at Kirkoswald and Lazonby but a cracking whistle. Lovely shot over the viaduct with a cracking finish at Durham 👍👍
Cheers Stephen, I didn't know about the restriction actually lol but thankfully I wasn't expecting too much anyways! I'm really glad you enjoyed the last two as well! Regards, Dan
Thank you very much! I actually found the angle on a stock photo of all things lol. Just had to corroborate what I could see with google maps and we had a winner! I'm glad you enjoyed! Regards, Dan
That was a busy day, brilliantly captured - thanks. Never seen a Black 5 look so black, a real tribute to her engineers/suppprt staff - could not have looked better leaving the works all those years ago on her maiden journey.
Cheers Liam! I think one of the 47s had an issue as it was supposed to run light from Hellifield to Milford Loop but was attached to the back instead. Others may know more though. Regards, Dan
44871 had problems on the dash to York with two unsolicited emergency brake apps in succesion so was taken off the train in York station and replaced with one of the 47s which was to have happened in Milford loop. All was not lost though as the 47 made good speed and ran early to Chesterfield.
That's certainly unusual, I didn't know that had happened! It seems she ran ok on the Pembroke Coast tour recently so thankfully the issue seems to be sorted! Regards, Dan
Dear Crunchy Nut, You produce some interesting videos. It puzzles me that you have not yet got yourself a softy or ‘dead cat’ to muffle the wind noise which is quite distracting.
