I was Australian army, I had an American delta mate killed there by a mortar strike 2 days after the battle, he went through the battle untouched and died by mortar strike, I met him in the 80s when he was a ranger, I have never forgotten him, rest easy Matt your never forgotten

I've never been able to watch the movie. It's too painful, the memories from other deployments are too vivid. This song is hauntingly accurate in the emotions it stirs-up.

Haunting - the contralto voice is absolutely gorgeous

I was listening this song when i was in Afganistan.. Those memories are still in my head.

Army vet from 62 thru 65, missed Vietnam by a hair,thank God. I feel for all those who wore the uniform especially those involve in combat. We are all connected one way or another. I often thank the Lord for giving me the idea to join when I did, for if I waited for the draft some time in mid 1965 more then likely I would have been drafted, and only God knows if I would be here today. From one vet to another my highest compliment, I salute you.

I got goosebumps when Anthia started signing. She sounds just like the studio score as she does in real life.

hans zimmer is the best composer and musician in the world. You hear it, you feel it. Who music crosses the borders. It takes a lot of heart to compose music like this. The singing gets under your skin. Great music that you will hear in 100 years. Who you understand something who is about music

As a historian I shouldn't say it but this movie inspired my path.

This music is not "by Hans Zimmer" but by Denez Prigent. Zimmer just put the song in his soundtrack (he asked Prigent before of course). Please edit it, to credit the real composer of this song.

Operation Restore Hope wasnt just about the medals for me. I volunteered to try to help, I think we all did. I was with an Intelligence gathering unit for the Marine Corps we arrived in December. By February I had to go home. It was the Rules of Engagement at that time that were terrible. We would get shot at, thrown bottle & Rocks, yelled at in order to provoke a fight, severely hated never had a scene such evil (Genocide) These people were fierce, & yet when I look back on it I see it as heaven, the city had once been gorgeous, absolutely stunningly with its temples & churches. But we toured the city no one building was without holes, looked like a swiss cheese everywhere, every building. So you gotta ask, what the hell kinda fight did they have that they ruined the capital city. Utter destruction, yet beautiful...like walking into a futuristic Western set in Africa. Where it was a big deal to own shoes, made you look wealthy. It was clan turning on clan in the biggest gang war a country could have. When I see a Somalian today in America I am joyful, "thank God they got out of that fucking place" ....Shit stays with you everyday the wild west Somalia was. I thank all of the U.S. & U.N. who tried to help. What a shit show. Great song, reminds me I was a warrior in Heaven imagine that.
