Day 1 of 3 of our riding trip to Nemo, SD in the Black Hills. I took it a bit slow, shaking off the rust. Some really fun single track to be had out there.

All stock asides from a silencer and protection parts.

what time of year was this? i'm planny a trip in may. i feel like the dirt would be better in the spring but I kinda like the scenery better later in the year when it is drier. r

This was in late August. The weather was perfect, not too hot. It got a little chilly at night and in the morning, but otherwise great. The dirt was pretty dry as most of America was in a drought all summer. I've also been there in Mid-September with awesome weather and dirt as well. Pretty much anytime spring summer fall will be great. Check out the Day 3 video. It shows some of the best trails out there.

What trail exactly is this? Or where was the trailhead you started at?

We started this day at Pilot Knob trailhead. It connects to 8089 and the Sugar Shack restaurant is just up the gravel road. Lots of great single track that come off of 8089

I often wonder who maintains (lack off) the single track there, since the area does not seem to have any trail or enduro clubs. The forest service doesn't do it. If they had more under brush, it would be totally overgrown.
