What a beautiful history of Black dolls. My favorite Barbie as a kid was my Brandy Cinderella doll. She was so dainty, had her own skin tone, it made my heart swell to look at her.

I grew up looking like Barbie herself. But that never stopped me from loving every new Barbie break trough they made. Beautiful skin tones and now disabilities it’s amazing.

I remember when I was a kid, there was only white dolls, maybe some black dolls, and if you're lucky there was an ambiguously brown doll that could probably just pass as a tan white person. Now they have so many different dolls. It makes me so happy. P.S. Barbie let's do some native American dolls perhaps for native American history month please?? Lol

Barbie has done native dolls before but for the most part they tend to be native caricatures and not representative of actual native people

Happy black history month! I am so happy to see all the diversity in today's dolls. I'm lucky to have grown up with dolls like these. And Barbie is teaching many young kids that whatever you look like, you are beautiful. I love you Toya and Bella! And I also love all the positivity in the doll community! Another thing, Katherine Johnson is amazing. I hope my future kids will be like her. ❤️🐸

Mattel releasing so many different dolls now, it's awesome! I love love LOVE that they added dolls with different body types, hair styles/textures, skin tones, face molds that actually are different than the same face, even dolls with prosthetic limbs or wheelchairs. I know not everyone buys dolls because they want them to look exactly like themselves, but having the choice for people, having the representation, it's wonderful to see! I'm saddened because we only had Target here in Canada for such a short period of time, & while Walmart in this small town does have a few different dolls - we don't get any exclusives or special edition dolls. I love the Katherine Johnson doll! I haven't seen her Barbie before! Thank you for showcasing a few other dolls too! :D

My First Barbie was a 1977 SuperStar Christie and I was so in Love with this doll!! I LOVE that Mattel represented dolls for EVERYONE now !! Back in the 1980's there wasnt a great sellection of dolls, especially here in Europe, Greetings from Germany 🤗

Jp Sprinkles Really-- besides being THE most highly educated FLOTUS ever. Michelle Obama attended Princeton University for undergrad and Harvard Law School. She was also the the vice president of Community and External Affairs for the University of Chicago Medical Center. She is also a highly successful author. Really--you went there with that comment? 😒. Don’t hate because you cannot be as smart as Michelle Obama. Yaaaay! Already have Katherine Johnson and want Rosa Parks, 40th Anniversary Black Barbie and the others. Thanks for this video and please keep showing us what's new and crafting for our dolls. As a retiree and grandmother, I try to encourage other collectors and those who love to play past age 10. Lost a huge collection of over 100 dolls and playsets that were no longer produced when our house was inundated during Hurricane Katrina. Many of the dolls were collected to represent family members of whom they reminded me. The current collection is much smaller, but all the more meaningful! Thanks, again, and Happy Crafting!😊

Barbie is my roll model and I think people my age will think I'm weird if I play with dolls but I'm not stopping doing something I love. Barbies been a role model since her older movies since I was younger and she's probably had a big impact on my life when things were difficult and even now. Your never too old to do what you love. ♥

I like the Katherine Johnson doll-especially her hairstyle, jewelry, accessories; and especially her vintage 1950's dress! But, was it really too much for Mattel to design her with bendable knees, so that she could at least sit at a table or desk properly? :\ Why do we always have to buy two dolls to make a hybrid approximation of the one that should've been in the first place?

I'm 40 yrs old and still collect and play with barbie dolls. Houses, cars, anything that my barbie aka my children can fix in is up for play time. I got over 300 hundred counting barbie dolls and playsets. That's the reason I love to watch myfroggystuff. I love crafting and adding more things for my children (barbie).

I really do want to see more Asian dolls. Not just the pale, small eyed, black hair dolls. Asian people are very diverse and as someone from Filipino heritage, I really want to see some Filipino, Koran, Japanese, and so many other nationalities being in doll forms. It would also be nice to add some of their cultural clothing to them as well. Might be a bit a much, but hey, I can dream.

Wow!! 40 years really suprises me tbh! I remember as a kid not understanding why my local Argos wasn't stocking any of the black dolls even tho they had them in the catalogue!! They stocked all the white dolls but you had to go to a special store just to get the black ones?! I ligit danced in the middle of Woolworths as a teen when I was finally able to find some sort of variety!! And boom, my collection began lol!!

Absolutely loved this one! I had that 1st Barbie & many more, but we won't even give there as to what happened ti them. I had a great collection of rare black barbies that would have been worth quite a bit of money today. My heart hurts that they are more longer in my possession. I am going to purchase the anniversary black barbie & actual pay to own the original 1st black barbie that came out in the 80's. Thk you for sharing.
