Black History Month: Mary Touvestre 

Mary Touvestre was a slave working as a seamstress in the home of a Confederate engineer during the Civil War. At great risk, Touvestre delivered valuable intelligence about Confederate plans to use the USS Merrimack - what would have been the first Confederate ironclad ship - to the U.S. secretary of the Navy. Touvestre's efforts greatly influenced the course of history.
