Black History Month is for looking back, but it's also a time to look forward. This year, youth from the FoCo Cultural Enrichment Center (CEC)-our next generation of Black leaders in Fort Collins-accepted the proclamation declaring February as Black History Month.
Here, CEC youth and the City's Equity Officer speak to the importance of acknowledging the past while paving the way for a future with more opportunity and understanding for our Black community.
