Depending on the construction of the island. In case of this island - I just screwed them to each other. When cabinets are back to back then I insert a 3/4in wood spacer in between to which I screw the cabinets.

Very nice work and I am inspired by your other ikea videos too. I am wondering if you would consider doing a video in installing the ikea crown molding on the cabinet tops and getting them so nicely flush to the ceiling you have? I am struggling terribly getting the white bobdyn cabinets and molding to be flush and look good in my ceiling.
How is the supply chain for getting standard run of the mill ikea cabinets? This is a project I want to tackle this winter but I'm not sure if stuff is several months out, a matter of weeks, etc. Looks like you do a lot with ikea stuff so I was wondering if you might have any insight. It depends on the your location, so the best thing to do is to check with your local IKEA, and see what they tell you. Also it depends greatly on the kitchen design you choose to go with.
