I went to Spain and liked it. When I got to Southern Spain. They couldn't figure out where I was from, they kept asking if I was from Algeria. I had to explain I was black from the U.S.
Hi👋🏽 That's interesting. I was mistaken for Dominican🇩🇴. Even when I said I wasn't, the 2nd guess was Panama, then Brazilian, then just "somewhere else in the Caribbean". Never somewhere in Africa and definitely not US American.🫢😂
@@LostintheUS-2030 This happened to me a lot in Albania. I guess people can only go on their frame of reference. The more Black Americans travel though, we can expose the world to us
@@LostintheUS-2030 I think it's the fact what is considered "black " in the U.S is not what is considered black in most of the world. They don't have a "One Drop Rule".
@@KeyokaKinzy I totally agree. Our continuous travels will put our faces out there. When I lived in Spain, I was a teenager and went to high school there. It was 2 of us US "Black Americans" in the class. Even in classes, the teachers kept calling us North Americans. At the time, Spain was using la Peseta. The Euro wasn't introduced yet. I was a teen, now in my mid-40s.🤫
I went this past June, I was on a Metatherian Cruise. Two days in Barcelona I must say i like it. I made sure i said i was Jamaican/American. People were nice, especially at my hotel. I want to visit Madrid n Saville❤❤🔥🔥
I really appreciated this video again as I prepare for my trip to Spain next month. I will be in Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia for just under 3 months. I want to stay the longest outside of Barcelona (about 3 - 4 weeks). While I am an extrovert, I don't "party" and I love the beach vibe you described for mornings. THanks for sharing. I trust the perspective of those of us from the Exodus Summit community. I am almost fluent this time around, and I'm hopeful I can conversate with the local people.

Love the fact you are a "dog mom" while traveling. I recently returned from Rome, Italy. I agree with you about visiting a place, it's hard to like because it is too touristy. I would have probably loved Rome better if I had stayed somewhere outside of Rome, where there wasn't so many people. Love this video!
So true! Part of my journey was learning what kind of traveler I am. I’m CHILL so I don’t mind living outside of a big city where it’s a bit calmer. It was definitely very stressful for my dogs, but it could’ve just been our experience. I saw lots of happy, unleashed dogs but also heard many stories about dog fights/attacks in Barcelona from dog groomers, trainers, and owners
Why do most educated African American women describe themselves as introverts? Do they just like being alone with their dogs? You have a nice personality. It's a shame you don't share yourself.
1. Race and education have very little impact on personality. It’s a culmination of environmental factors and genetic predispositions. In other words: not everybody is the same. Also a person can describe themselves however they choose. 2. I like my dogs. I actually got them while in a relationship. I also love my own company, as everyone should. 3. Thanks. 😊 I do. 🙃
