I'm Igbo from Nigeria and as a child, my parents would say we are Jews. But since the October 7th incident. I have done a lot of digging of the Jewish people and have seen many similarities between my people and other Jews of the world. This video is informative. and I just learnt that Godfrey is from my village, Arondizuogu in Imo state, Nigeria.

I had a black friend who came from Nigeria to NYC (who I gave clothes to because he came to work the first day with shoes that didn’t fit him and wore the same clothes to work every day), he started working at my construction company as a laborer. He told me that in Africa they told him to stay away black Americans and that they think we’re no good. He was surprised I was so well spoken because he was told he wouldn’t understand us 😂 It was a culture shock for him seeing me smoking weed and hearing the non mainstream rap we listened to.. so I do understand that people can see the norms of a different culture and think they might be bad people. That’s why COMMUNICATION is integral to spark change!

For Black History Month, I wanted to have a discussion on Jews of Africa because I grew up with Prince of Egypt, Joseph King of Dream, and The Queen of Sheba. So, I did a collaboration with my college's BSU, and I learned so much from that. What I didn't know is that the Kingdom of Israel went to Africa, and that conisize what I believe that The Arc of Convent is in Africa and it explains why during The Civil Rights Black and Jews ✡️ work together. Also, I met a Black Israeli at the university, and she was a badass!! I'm glad Rudy is talking about this!

There’s a guy who is A Black Jewish leader with the name Nate Looney out in LA. Director of the Jewish Equity Diversity team in one of the Branches of the Jewish Federation of North America. I’m not saying that it’s the same as somehow becoming a chief in a tribe that I’m not too sure this Sephardic Jewish man was born in, but I do see more and more Black Jewish leaders and I’m hoping it’s a good sign.

Rudy mention’s Dave’s monologue and cite that as example of antisemitism but then negates Godfreys examples of anti black racism as individual people and not necessarily systemic or mass.
Bias is not necessarily a lie, all people are biased. Having more conversation with different people would be dope but I appreciated that they exchanged ideas and didn't just tell or argue the entire time. I would like to see more clearing up of confusion going forward that's all.
Thank you for having this conversation. I am having to reconcile this now. I can't begin to wrap my head around it, but the genealogy makes sense. My folks are Igbo/Yoruba, Spanish(Iberian Peninsula), French, German, and Polish. All of our last namea reflect Ashkenazi/Sephardi names. I never felt comfortable in church although I went and wanted to learn everything I could, but for me, there was always something missing. I started gravitating towards Jewish people since I was 6 when I had a friend who was Jewish in first grade. I always wanted to go to Synagogue. I ended up playing a gig in a reform Synagogue and I felt so welcomed. Jewish guys and Arab guys were always interested in me, and I always gravitated towards them as well as Latin folks from my diaspora who are most likely part of thr dispersion. I have begun the process of converting. Its an interesting experience. So glad you all are talking about this.

Rudy is a super smart and intellectual guy. But it’s clear that he’s not someone to talk about comedy. This is not a subject or environment he understands on a complex level. I don't think it's relevant whether the comedy is funny or not. It's not antisemitic because of its level of funniness, it's antisemitic for a ton of other reasons.

I think what this conversation really showed is that the divide and conquer tactics are still in effect. The Jewish guy is right to feel a type of way about his race is being portrayed just as blacks are. As a black person it very much feels like we are very much left out dry and can be disrespected by even people in the worst conditions but then again as he said Jews are victims to a lot of hate crimes too.
