Balalaika is magnificent...especially when she is angry. If you hear her drop into a Russian accent...you’re screwed. She can be sweet, but underneath always ruthless and cool, yet still polite and a sophisticated lady who dresses well. Her men follow her for her prowess both in battle and strategy....a lot more men would follow her for other reasons I am sure. So then....nominate an actress to play her... Charlize T maybe?
Contessa Adella 100%, so true. I love how she treats everybody respectfully and politely, it makes her seem so kind, and friendly. She’s not afraid of putting people back in their place. She’s not as harsh and serious as others, she’s lighthearted and playful. Truly a magnificent and beautiful lady,
Oh yes she is. For me Black Lagoon definitely has 3 of the most terrifying women in anime. And Eda and Shenhua are prettying terrifying in their own right.
She’s a beautifully portrayed for an anime woman. She’s confident, but not arrogant, she knows her place. So classy and elegant, she has good manners and is polite and respectful, but isn’t afraid to walk around like she owns the place. Even for a very formal woman, she’s not above teasing and being playful. Calm, composed, relaxed, elegant, charming, charismatic, graceful, the list goes on. She knows how to use her power and authority effectively and practically. What isn’t there to like?
Balalaika is such a convincing and believable character... Her motivations are understandable (she just wants to live by war because she lost everything else) Her ways of dealing with things are practical (not fucks around like others and just kills everyone on her way if she's able to) Her organisation "Hotel Moscow" looks like powerful mob would look like irl. (They are on TOP not because of swag, traditions or whatever. They are militarized). She and her people are giving this crazy story about cannibal kids, girl with chainsaw, bullet dodging gunslingers and etc. a grim and realistic tone.
Fun fact: Her real name is Captain Sofiya Pavlovna, formerly of the VDV, the airborne division of the Red Army, veteran of the Afghanistan War, owner and founder of the Hotel Moscow Mercenary Company. She got the nickname Balalaika from the weapon she used, which was given that name by other Soviet soldiers.
"KNEEL", when Balalaika gives that command, its not a request, its not a command, it is target designation. Watching her watch the psycho killed her man bleed out at her feet was as stone cold an expression of loyalty as you can ask for.

I love how they wrote Balalaika and the rest of the members of the Russian mafia Ex-soldiers who served the Soviet Union by fighting in the Soviet-Afghan War. Balalaika takes shit from no one who rose to higher ranks by charm and wits like that former KGB agent. The strength that her organization shows came from pure strength, they're organized, they communicate and they're coordinated because they were in the military. She's an intimidating character to come across because you have to realize she's protected by the former Soviet Union's best of the best. Honestly one of my favorite animes
the first time i set eyes on this anime i thought it would be interesting... I got hooked 3 episodes in then i binged it within 2-4 days finishing it, its too bad the anime is discontinued.
Well there’s only a single story arc completed after robertas blood trail, but the manga got continued quite recently so there might still come a season 4 in the future.

Они не спецназовцы а обычные ДШБшники - ренегаты...Не то что спецназ, их морпехи из за пазуху засунут. Но вообще не представляю, как их оставили в покое...Как только бы в Москве узнали что целый батальон ДШБ ВДВ в Куалолумпуре лютует. Туда бы сразу направили БДК с морпехами...Чтобы избавится от этого позорища

Balalaika easily my favorite character in this series. She and Edda are the two that are two that just can kick you ass in person, but also outscheme you till they kingdom come and that last part is a heck of a lot more scary.

Он самый. Меня всегда удивляло это название, если с всс всё понятно ( (Vintovka)Винтовка (Snaiperskaya)Снайперская (Specalnaya)Специальная), то с винторез не понятно. Там от объединения двух слов Винт (Vint) о (эта буква или буква е всегда ставится при объединении слов) и Рез (Res) от резать. Резать винты что ли? Предполагаю, что из-за нарезного ствола и дозвуковой скорости пули, пуля должна вкручиваться в поверхность, как винт, разрезая её. Наверное, автор так считал и потому так назвал.
