You know what's crazy. Darker complexion people of many mixed origins can become lighter. It's vitiligo. I was born light and turned Darkskin. Due to my struggles with eczema. My skin developed vitiligo which is just your melanin forgetting to produce its original complexion. When I was younger, my skin was more Sudanese pigment, up until my eczema struggles. However, for a while what I loved about that dark dark skin was that you heal fast. Today I am more of a milk chocolate where you might not see me turn blush red, but you can see different color bruises on my skin. So, it is not a common thing to turn light, but its not impossible. Lastly, there are high Albinism rates in South Africa mainly around the Congo, where they were saw and even hunted as good luck charms which they are mutilated for.
