Dr. Ejiofor Ezekwe will be one of the few black male physician scientist in America. He has a phenomenal outlook on life that needs to be heard. www.BlackMenInWhiteCoats.org
Here is a black brother spending 13 Years before he starts residency, If this isn't the kind of mentors we need in the black community then I don't know what we need. Big up Doc
“If you are mentored in the streets, you are going to be in the streets.” How true! I too was mentored by great friends who I met along the way when I made the decision to go to college. I am also Nigerian. Immediately I made that decision to attend college, I changed my circle of friends and I started hanging out with other Africans inspiring young professionals who wanted to become doctors, engineers, pharmacists and nurses. This is what motivated me and today I’m glad i came across these young professionals. If i was mentored prior to discovering what I wanted to do by now I would have been a physician.
I agreed with everything he said until he said seeing a black doctor taking care of you may change your perspective on black people. At the end up of day it is not black responsibility to change anyone's perspective or perception of them. Quite frankly black people shouldn't care. But other then congradulations to him!!!!
