Extreme metal as we know it today would not exist without Morbid Angel. Their first album introduced blast beats in metronomic time, and Trey's technical prowess showed that being brutal meant more than just playing down-tuned power chords in a chromatic progression, or alternate picking as fast as possible!
It's important to acknowledge the subtle note colorations of Trey. For example at different times of the same main riff, you get these stacked 4ths in "jabs" for emphasis, stealthily adding variation and creating more ominous feel.
why is there so much reverb on your guitar? who plays metal with that much reverb? also the artwork on the album cover is one of the best besides gateways.
I perfer this style of era death metal drumming and DM in general. I don't like the quantization sound of drumming it's cool and talented just doesn't sound brutal anymore.

@@galayat-reacts3643 ah you have excellent taste, they are my favourite death metal band alongside Immolation, may I suggest the song Mr. Self-destruct by Nine Inch Nails then, I know they are not necessarily a metal band, but Trent Reznor is a great musician and the song is pretty heavy in its own right. n_n
So you have never heard Morbid Angel before this for real? If so, then you should be a total slave listening to at least 1 or 2 of their albums routinely every day for the remainder of your life by this point. Most addictive band to exist and you discover new ways of hearing their albums throughout the years.
