for the next hour or so after the set I heard at least three people mutter to themselves, "she moves with a purpose." Like people were just walking around saying it to themselves
Yeah … my kids did love it when they heard it in the 90’s. Now I’m waiting to turn my grandkids on someday … This is a cover. Nothing wrong with that BUT They didn’t even credit the original artist which is a shame. They even changed the name of the song. The song is called “SKOTOSEME “ by Diamanda Galas. Check out the studio version. It’s insane. - I’m a Diamanda Galas fan and would like to see credit given when credit is due that all. -PureSalem Guitars
Austin Peet it’s so unsettling the amount of chaotic energy they bring live. It’s definitely the type of energy I want to be surrounded in when playing live. Hopefully, one day.
I love the fact that they are really young, but their music sounds incredibly mature. They are really conscious of how they want to sound. Pure genius. Really digging this guys.

@@ricksell2877 How is that track even remotely similar to bmbmbm? -The intro is massively different -Vocal performances are massively different too -Skotoseme features quite a few groove changes, while bmbmbm stays the same almost all the song. -Bass grooves are different too. The bass on bmbmbm only plays one note throughout almost the entire song, while the bass on Skotoseme is more varied. -The outros of both songs are also different. Skotoseme doesn't end on a noise rock note. -The structures are also very different. Skotoseme is more dynamic while bmbmbm is more linear. I could go on listing all of the differences that they have but I think that's enough lol. Really the only simmilarity that they have is the steady bass, but neither Skotoseme nor bmbmbm would be the only examples of simplistic and steady basslines. And minimalist basslines are too simple and generic to be considered original to one specific artist. I don't doubt that maybe black midi was inspired by Diamanda, but to go as far as to imply that black midi basically stole one of her songs is very silly.
Bro they literally imitated a dj rewinding back the song and they played that interpretation with live instruments how can you not love this band and their technical ability
Well I do like Black Midi, but to be fair, technical ability means very little. I can totally understand people not liking a band even if they're very skilled instrumentalists, if the music sounds like ass.
im just glad theres finally a rock band thats saying something real and calling out all the bullshit narcissism thats plaguing youth culture without being corny about it. at least its thoughtful. no famous person, or any sort of influential figure right now has a message, or, a PURPOSE.
Make it 25. This is a cover of a Diamanda Galas song called “SKOTOSEME “ that she released in the 90’s. Check it out it’s awesome!!!!! super aggressive. @@ricksell2877 Dude you are high if you think this is the same song. Literally the only similarities are that there are drums, bass guitar, and someone screaming unintelligible words into a mic. The riff is entirely different. For anyone curious who wants to compare: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yRyBqjtmlyg.html I will say, though, you are right that it is a great song.

@@logan12ist me neither, but to be fair what you just said is pretty much what the OP said... And I was agreeing with him, so I'm not really seeing where you're going
@@crossovo Why ?, I think that one of the things that this group represents is euphoria and youth, it is logical that people end up doing mosh, these guys give off a lot of energy, I could not stay still in one of their live shows, sorry for my bad english
I was down in South Beach this weekend for a bachelor party; I lost eight pounds and our entire crew was talking like this for the first two days straight
FriedFries facts I think we as Americans need to be reminded to participate in crowds and be active. Idk what Europeans and other continents are getting fed but salute to them
